Shabbat Shalom Loved One!

Last week we saw what YHWH has commanded to be food and what things He declares is not food. Most of us grew up thinking whatever WE call food or others call food is food! Please let us remember no matter what anyone tells you- all things are sanctified by the WORD (His word NOT our word) and by prayer. That means that all our praying against His word will not sanctify unclean things. He made us, I expect He knows better than us! So let’s take a quick review of what YHWH has declared for us to eat and expect health: Food of the beasts of the Earth: (Lev 11:1) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying to them, (Lev 11:2) “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘these are the living creatures which you do eat among all the beasts that are on the earth: (Lev 11:3) ‘Whatever has a split hoof completely divided, chewing the cud, among the beasts, that you do eat. (Lev 11:4) ‘Only, these you do not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have a split hoof: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is unclean to you; (Lev 11:5) and the rabbit, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is unclean to you; (Lev 11:6) and the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is unclean to you; (Lev 11:7) and the pig, though it has a split hoof, completely divided, yet does not chew the cud, it is unclean to you. (Lev 11:8) ‘Their flesh you do not eat, and their carcasses you do not touch. They are unclean to you. What is considered food by YHWH from the waters: (Lev 11:9) ‘These you do eat of all that are in the waters: any one that has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas or in the rivers that you do eat. (Lev 11:10) ‘But all that have not fins and scales in the seas and in the rivers all that move in the waters or any living creature which is in the waters; they are an abomination to you. (Lev 11:11) ‘They are an abomination to you – of their flesh you do not eat, and their carcasses you abominate. (Lev 11:12) ‘All that have not fins or scales in the waters are an abomination to you. What YHWH considers food that is flying: (Lev 11:13) ‘And these you do abominate among the birds, they are not eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the vulture, and the black vulture, (Lev 11:14) and the hawk, and the falcon after its kind, (Lev 11:15) every raven after its kind, (Lev 11:16) and the ostrich, and the nighthawk, and the seagull, and the hawk after its kind, (Lev 11:17) and the little owl, and the fisher owl, and the great owl, (Lev 11:18) and the white owl, and the pelican, and the carrion vulture, (Lev 11:19) and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. (Lev 11:20) ‘All flying insects that creep on all fours is an abomination to you. (Lev 11:21) ‘Only, these you do eat of every flying insect that creeps on all fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth. (Lev 11:22) ‘These of them you do eat: the locust after its kind and the destroying locust after its kind and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. (Lev 11:23) ‘But all other flying insects which have four feet is an abomination to you. (Lev 11:24) ‘And by these you are made unclean, anyone touching the carcass of any of them is unclean until evening, (Lev 11:25) and anyone picking up part of the carcass of any of them has to wash his garments, and shall be unclean until evening. (Lev 11:26) ‘Every beast that has a split hoof not completely divided, or does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. Anyone who touches their carcass is unclean. (Lev 11:27) ‘And whatever goes on its paws, among all the creatures that go on all fours, those are unclean to you. Anyone who touches their carcass is unclean until evening, (Lev 11:28) and he who picks up their carcass has to wash his garments, and shall be unclean until evening. They are unclean to you. “Creeps” YHWH declares unclean: (Lev 11:29) ‘And these are unclean to you among the creeping creatures that creep on the earth: the mole, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind, (Lev 11:30) and the gecko, and the land crocodile, and the sand reptile, and the sand lizard, and the chameleon. (Lev 11:31) ‘These are unclean to you among all that creep. Anyone who touches them when they are dead becomes unclean until evening. (Lev 11:32) ‘And whatever any of them in its dead state falls upon, becomes unclean, whether it is any wooden object or garment or skin or sack, any object in which work is done, it is put in water. And it shall be unclean until evening, and then it shall be clean. (Lev 11:33) ‘Any earthen vessel into which any of them falls, whatever is in it becomes unclean, and you break it. (Lev 11:34) ‘Any of the food which might be eaten, on which water comes, becomes unclean, and any drink which might be drunk from it becomes unclean. (Lev 11:35) ‘And on whatever any of their carcass falls becomes unclean – an oven or cooking range – it is broken down. They are unclean, and are unclean to you. (Lev 11:36) ‘But a fountain or a well, a collection of water, is clean, but whatever touches their carcass is unclean. (Lev 11:37) ‘And when any of their carcasses falls on any planting seed which is to be sown, it is clean. (Lev 11:38) ‘But when any water is put on the seed and any part of any such carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you. (Lev 11:39) ‘And when any of the beasts which are yours for food dies, he who touches its carcass becomes unclean until evening. (Lev 11:40) ‘And he who eats of its carcass has to wash his garments, and shall be unclean until evening. And he who picks up its carcass has to wash his garments, and shall be unclean until evening. (Lev 11:41) ‘And every creeping creature that creeps on the earth is an abomination, it is not eaten. (Lev 11:42) ‘Whatever crawls on its stomach, and whatever goes on all fours, and whatever has many feet among all creeping creatures that creep on the earth, these you do not eat, for they are an abomination. (Lev 11:43) ‘Do not make yourselves abominable with any creeping creature that creeps, and do not make yourselves unclean with them, lest you be defiled by them. (Lev 11:44) ‘For I am יהוה your Elohim and you shall set yourselves apart. And you shall be set-apart, for I am set-apart. And do not defile yourselves with any creeping creature that creeps on the earth. (Lev 11:45) ‘I am יהוה who is bringing you up out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Elohim. And you shall be set-apart, for I am set-apart. (Lev 11:46) ‘This is the Torah (Instructions) of the beasts and the birds and every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth, (Lev 11:47) to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living creature that is eaten and the living creature that is not eaten.’ ”

(Lev 12:1) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 12:2) “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘When a woman has conceived, and has given birth to a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days, as in the days of her monthly separation she is unclean. (Lev 12:3) ‘And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin is circumcised. (Lev 12:4) ‘And she remains in the blood of her cleansing thirty-three days. She does not touch whatever is set-apart, and she does not come into the set-apart place until the days of her cleansing are completed. (Lev 12:5) ‘But if she gives birth to a female child, then she shall be unclean for two weeks, as in her monthly separation, and she remains in the blood of her cleansing for sixty-six days. (Lev 12:6) ‘And when the days of her cleansing are completed, for a son or for a daughter, she brings to the priest a lamb a year old, as a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove as a sin offering, to the door of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 12:7) ‘And he shall bring it before יהוה, and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the Torah for her who has given birth to a male or a female. (Lev 12:8) ‘And if she is not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one as a burnt offering and the other as a sin offering. And the priest shall make atonement for her, “When a man has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or a bright spot, and it shall become on the skin of his body like a leprous infection, then he shall be brought to Aharon the priest or to one of his sons the priests. (Lev 13:3) “And the priest shall look at the infection on the skin of the body. And if the hair on the infection has turned white, and the infection appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a leprous infection. And the priest shall look at him, and pronounce him unclean. (Lev 13:4) “But if the bright spot is white on the skin of his body, and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and its hair has not turned white, then the priest shall shut up the infected one seven days. (Lev 13:5) “And the priest shall look at him on the seventh day and see, if the infection appears to be as it was, and the infection has not spread on the skin, then the priest shall shut him up another seven days. (Lev 13:6) “And the priest shall look at him again on the seventh day and see, if the infection has darkened, and the infection has not spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is a scab, and he shall wash his garments and be clean. (Lev 13:7) “But if the scab spreads further over the skin, after he has been seen by the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen by the priest again. (Lev 13:8) “And the priest shall look and see, if the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean, it is leprosy. (Lev 13:9) “When the infection of leprosy is on a man, then he shall be brought to the priest. (Lev 13:10) “And the priest shall look and see, if the swelling on the skin is white, and it has turned the hair white, and there is a spot of raw flesh in the swelling, (Lev 13:11) it is an old leprosy on the skin of his body, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean. He does not shut him up, for he is unclean. (Lev 13:12) “And if leprosy breaks out all over the skin, and the leprosy shall cover all the skin of the infected one, from his head to his foot, wherever the priest looks, (Lev 13:13) then the priest shall look and see, if the leprosy has covered all his body, he shall pronounce the infected one clean. It has all turned white, he is clean. (Lev 13:14) “But the day raw flesh appears on him, he is unclean. (Lev 13:15) “And the priest shall look at the raw flesh and pronounce him to be unclean – the raw flesh is unclean, it is leprosy. (Lev 13:16) “Or when the raw flesh changes and turns white again, he shall come to the priest. (Lev 13:17) “And the priest shall look at him and see, if the infection has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce the infected one clean, he is clean. (Lev 13:18) “And when the body has a boil in the skin, and it is healed, (Lev 13:19) and in the place of the boil there comes a white swelling or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be seen by the priest. (Lev 13:20) “And the priest shall look and see, if it appears deeper than the skin, and its hair has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean, it is a leprous infection which has broken out of the boil. (Lev 13:21) “But if the priest looks at it and sees no white hairs in it, and it is not deeper than the skin, but has faded, then the priest shall shut him up seven days; (Lev 13:22) and if it has spread further over the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean, it is a leprous infection. (Lev 13:23) “But if the bright spot stays in its place, it has not spread, it is the scar of the boil, and the priest shall pronounce him clean. (Lev 13:24) “Or when the body receives a burn on its skin by fire, and the raw flesh of the burn shall become a bright spot, reddish-white or white, (Lev 13:25) then the priest shall look at it and see, if the hair of the bright spot has turned white, and it appears deeper than the skin, it is leprosy broken out in the burn. And the priest shall pronounce him unclean, it is a leprous infection. (Lev 13:26) “But if the priest looks at it and sees there are no white hairs in the bright spot, and it is not deeper than the skin, but has faded, then the priest shall shut him up seven days. (Lev 13:27) “And the priest shall look at him on the seventh day. If it spreads further over the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean, it is a leprous infection. (Lev 13:28) “But if the bright spot stays in its place, and has not spread on the skin, but has faded, it is a swelling from the burn. And the priest shall pronounce him clean, for it is the scar from the burn. (Lev 13:29) “And when a man, or a woman, has an infection on the head or in the beard, (Lev 13:30) then the priest shall look at the infection and see, if it appears deeper than the skin, and there is thin yellow hair in it, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean, it is an eruption, a leprosy of the head or beard. (Lev 13:31) “But when the priest looks at the infection of the eruption and sees that it does not appear deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest shall shut up the one with the infection of the eruption seven days. (Lev 13:32) “And on the seventh day the priest shall look at the infection and see, if the eruption has not spread, and there is no yellow hair in it, and the eruption does not appear deeper than the skin, (Lev 13:33) then he shall shave himself, but the eruption he does not shave. And the priest shall shut up the one with the eruption another seven days. (Lev 13:34) “And on the seventh day the priest shall look at the eruption and see, if the eruption has not spread over the skin, and does not appear deeper than the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. And he shall wash his garments, and he shall be clean. (Lev 13:35) “But if the eruption spreads further over the skin after his cleansing, (Lev 13:36) then the priest shall look at him and see, if the eruption has spread over the skin, the priest need not seek for yellow hair, he is unclean. (Lev 13:37) “But if the eruption appears to have stayed, and there is black hair grown up in it, the eruption has healed. He is clean, and the priest shall pronounce him clean. (Lev 13:38) “And when a man or a woman has bright spots on the skin of the body, white bright spots, (Lev 13:39) then the priest shall look and see, if the bright spots on the skin of the body are dull white, it is a white spot that grows on the skin, he is clean. (Lev 13:40) “And when a man loses the hair of his head, he is bald, he is clean. (Lev 13:41) “And if the hair has fallen from his forehead, he is bald on the forehead, he is clean. (Lev 13:42) “And when there is on the bald head or bald forehead a reddish-white infection, it is leprosy breaking out on his bald head or his bald forehead. (Lev 13:43) “And the priest shall look at it and see, if the swelling of the infection is reddish-white on his bald head or on his bald forehead, as the appearance of leprosy on the skin of the body, (Lev 13:44) he is a leprous man, he is unclean. The priest shall pronounce him unclean, without fail, his infection is on his head. (Lev 13:45) “As for the leper who has the infection, his garments are torn, and his head is uncovered, and he has to cover his upper lip and cry, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ (Lev 13:46) “He is unclean – all the days he has the infection he is unclean. He is unclean, and he dwells alone, his dwelling place is outside the camp. (Lev 13:47) “And when a garment has an infection of leprosy in it, in a woolen garment or in a linen garment, (Lev 13:48) or in the warp or in the weft of linen or wool, or in leather or in any leather-work, (Lev 13:49) and the infection shall be greenish or reddish in the garment or in the leather, or in the warp or in the weft, or in any leather object, it is an infection of leprosy and shall be shown to the priest. (Lev 13:50) “And the priest shall look at the infection and shut up the infected one seven days. (Lev 13:51) “And he shall look at the infection on the seventh day. And when the infection has spread in the garment, or in the warp or in the weft, or in the leather or any leather-work, the infection is an active leprosy and it is unclean. (Lev 13:52) “And he shall burn that garment, or the warp or the weft, in wool or in linen or any leather object in which the infection is, for it is an active leprosy. It is burned with fire. (Lev 13:53) “But if the priest looks and sees that the infection has not spread in the garment, or in the warp or in the weft, or in any leather object, (Lev 13:54) then the priest shall give command, and they shall wash that in which the infection is. And he shall shut it up another seven days. (Lev 13:55) “And the priest shall look at the infection after it has been washed and see, if the infection has not changed its appearance, though the infection has not spread, it is unclean, and burn it in the fire – it is eaten away, in its inside or outside. (Lev 13:56) “And if the priest shall look and see that the infection has faded after washing it, then he shall tear it out of the garment, or out of the warp, or out of the weft, or out of the leather. (Lev 13:57) “And if it is still seen in the garment, or in the warp or in the weft, or in any leather object, it is a spreading infection. Burn it with fire, that in which the infection is. (Lev 13:58) “And if you wash the garment, or the warp or the weft, or any leather object, if the infection has disappeared from it, then it shall be washed a second time, and shall be clean. (Lev 13:59) “This is the Torah of the infection of leprosy in a garment of wool or linen, or in the warp or in the weft, or in any leather object, to pronounce it clean or to pronounce it unclean.”

No one can buy the gift of YHWH’s mercy and power to deliver!

(2Ki 4:42) Now a man came from Baʽal Shalishah, and brought the man of Elohim bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, “Give it to the people to eat.” (2Ki 4:43) And his servant said, “What? Do I set this before one hundred men?” And he said, “Give it to the people to eat. For thus said יהוה, ‘Eat and have some left over.’ ” (2Ki 4:44) and he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of יהוה. (2Ki 5:1) And Naʽaman, commander of the army of the sovereign of Aram, was a great man in the eyes of his master, and highly respected, because by him יהוה had given deliverance to Aram. And he was a brave man, but leprous. (2Ki 5:2) And the Arameans had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Yisra’ĕl, and she served the wife of Naʽaman. (2Ki 5:3) And she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Shomeron! Then he would recover him of his leprosy.” (2Ki 5:4) And Naʽaman went in and reported to his master, saying, “Thus and thus spoke the girl who is from the land of Yisra’ĕl.” (2Ki 5:5) And the sovereign of Aram said, “Go, enter, and let me send a letter to the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl.” And he went and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of garments. (2Ki 5:6) And he brought the letter to the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, which said, “And now, when this letter comes to you, see I have sent Naʽaman my servant to you, so that you shall recover him of his leprosy.” (2Ki 5:7) And it came to be, when the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl read the letter, that he tore his garments and said, “Am I Elohim, to kill and keep alive, that this man sends a man to me to recover him of his leprosy? For consider now, and see how he is seeking an occasion with me!” (2Ki 5:8) And it came to be, when Elisha the man of Elohim heard that the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl had torn his garments, that he sent to the sovereign, saying, “Why have you torn your garments? Please let him come to me, so that he knows that there is a prophet in Yisra’ĕl.” (2Ki 5:9) So Naʽaman came with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the entrance of the house of Elisha. (2Ki 5:10) And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go, and you shall wash seven times in the Yardĕn, that your flesh might be restored to you, and be clean.” (2Ki 5:11) But Naʽaman became wroth, and went away and said, “See, I said to myself, ‘He would certainly come out to me, and stand and call on the Name of יהוה his Elohim, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leprosy.’ (2Ki 5:12) “Are not the Aḇanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Dammeseq, better than all the waters of Yisra’ĕl? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” And he turned and went away in a rage. (2Ki 5:13) And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had spoken to you a great matter, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” (2Ki 5:14) Then he went down and dipped seven times in the Yardĕn, according to the word of the man of Elohim. And his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. (2Ki 5:15) And he returned to the man of Elohim, he and all his company, and came and stood before him and said, “See, now I know that there is no Elohim in all the earth, except in Yisra’ĕl. And now, please take a gift from your servant.” (2Ki 5:16) But he said, “As יהוה lives, before whom I stand, I do not accept it.” And he pressed on him to accept it, but he refused. (2Ki 5:17) Then Naʽaman said, “If not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth, for no longer is your servant going to make a burnt offering and slaughtering to other mighty ones, but to יהוה. (2Ki 5:18) “יהוה grant forgiveness to your servant in this matter: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the house of Rimmon; when I bow down in the house of Rimmon, יהוה, please grant forgiveness to your servant in this matter.”(2Ki 5:19) Then he said to him, “Go in peace.” And when he had gone from him some distance.

Following and lusting for things brings YHWH’s judgment- Leprosy!

(2Ki 5:20) But Gĕḥazi, the servant of Elisha the man of Elohim, said to himself, “Look, my master has spared Naʽaman this Aramean, while not receiving from his hands what he brought. But as יהוה lives, I shall run after him and take whatever from him.” (2Ki 5:21) And Gĕḥazi pursued Naʽaman. And when Naʽaman saw him running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him, and said, “Is there peace?” (2Ki 5:22) And he said, “Peace. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Look, even now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephrayim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.’ ” (2Ki 5:23) And Naʽaman said, “Please accept two talents.” And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants. And they bare them ahead of him. (2Ki 5:24) And when he came to the high place, he took them from their hand, and stored them away in the house, and let the men go, and they went. (2Ki 5:25) And he went in and stood before his master, and Elisha said to him, “Where did you go, Gĕḥazi?” And he said, “Your servant did not go anywhere.” (2Ki 5:26) But he said to him, “Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to accept silver and to accept garments, and olive-trees and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male and female servants? (2Ki 5:27) “So let the leprosy of Naʽaman cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from him as leprous as snow.

(Mat 8:1) And when He came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him. (Mat 8:2) And see, a leper came, and bowed before Him, saying, “Master, if you desire, you are able to make me clean.” (Mat 8:3) And stretching out His hand יהושע touched him, saying, “I desire it. Be cleansed!” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Mat 8:4) And יהושע said to him, “See, and mention it to no one. But go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Mosheh commanded, as a witness to them.” (Mat 8:5) And when יהושע had entered Kephar Naḥum, a captain came to Him, appealing to Him, (Mat 8:6) saying, “Master, my servant is lying in the house paralyzed, grievously tortured.” (Mat 8:7) And יהושע said to him, “I shall come and heal him.” (Mat 8:8) And the captain answering, said, “Master, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only say a word, and my servant shall be healed. (Mat 8:9) “I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” (Mat 8:10) And when יהושע heard, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Truly, I say to you, not even in Yisra’ĕl have I found such great belief! (Mat 8:11) “And I say to you that many shall come from east and west, and sit down with Aḇraham, and Yitsḥaq, and Yaʽaqoḇ in the reign of the heavens, (Mat 8:12) but the sons of the reign shall be cast out into outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Mat 8:13) And יהושע said to the captain, “Go, and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that hour. (Mat 8:14) And when יהושע had come into the house of Kĕpha, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with inflammation. (Mat 8:15) And He touched her hand, and the inflammation left her. And she arose and served them. (Mat 8:16) And when evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, (Mat 8:17) that it might be filled what was spoken by Yeshayahu the prophet, saying, “He Himself took our weaknesses and bore our sicknesses.” (Mat 8:18) And when יהושע saw large crowds about Him, He gave a command to go off to the other side.

King Saul and his sons die and David mourns Israel, Saul, and Jonathan

(2Sa 1:1) And it came to be after the death of Sha’ul, when Dawiḏ had returned from smiting the Amalĕqites that Dawiḏ remained two days in Tsiqlaḡ. (2Sa 1:2) And it came to be on the third day that see, a man came out of the camp from Sha’ul with his garments torn and dust on his head. And it came to be, when he came to Dawiḏ that he fell to the ground and did obeisance. (2Sa 1:3) And Dawiḏ said to him, “From where do you come?” And he said to him, “I have escaped from the camp of Yisra’ĕl.” (2Sa 1:4) And Dawiḏ said to him, “What was the matter? Please inform me.” And he said, “The people have fled from the battle, and also many of the people have fallen and are dead, and Sha’ul and Yehonathan his son are dead too.” (2Sa 1:5) And Dawiḏ said to the young man who informed him, “How do you know that Sha’ul and Yehonathan his son are dead?” (2Sa 1:6) And the young man who informed him said, “By chance I was on Mount Gilboa and saw Sha’ul leaning on his spear. And see, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him. (2Sa 1:7) “And when he looked behind him, he saw me and called to me, and I answered, ‘Here I am.’ (2Sa 1:8) “And he said to me, ‘Who are you?’ So I answered him, ‘I am an Amalĕqite.’ (2Sa 1:9) “And he said to me, ‘Please stand over me and put me to death, for agony has seized me, but my life is still in me.’ (2Sa 1:10) “So I stood beside him and put him to death, for I knew he would not live after he had fallen. And I took the diadem that was on his head and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my master.” (2Sa 1:11) And Dawiḏ took hold of his own garments and tore them, and also all the men who were with him. (2Sa 1:12) And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Sha’ul and for Yehonathan his son, and for the people of יהוה and for the house of Yisra’ĕl, because they had fallen by the sword. (2Sa 1:13) Then Dawiḏ asked the young man who informed him, “Where are you from?” And he answered, “I am the son of a sojourner, an Amalĕqite.” (2Sa 1:14) And Dawiḏ said to him, “How was it you were not afraid to stretch out your hand to destroy the anointed of יהוה?” (2Sa 1:15) And Dawiḏ called one of the young men and said, “Draw near and fall on him!” And he smote him so that he died. (2Sa 1:16) And Dawiḏ said to him, “Your blood is on your own head, for your own mouth has witnessed against you, saying, ‘I myself have put to death the anointed of יהוה.’ ” (2Sa 1:17) Then Dawiḏ lamented with this lamentation over Sha’ul and over Yehonathan his son,

King David now orders training with this powerful battle weapon- The BOW!

(2Sa 1:18) and he ordered “The Bow” to be taught to the children of Yehuḏah. See, it is written in the Book of Yashar: (2Sa 1:19) “The splendor of Yisra’ĕl Is slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen! (2Sa 1:20) “Declare it not in Gath; proclaim it not in the streets of Ashqelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised exult. (2Sa 1:21) “Mountains of Gilboa! No dew or rain be upon you, nor fields of offerings. For there the shield of the mighty lay rejected the shield of Sha’ul, not anointed with oil. (2Sa 1:22) “From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Yehonathan did not turn back, and the sword of Sha’ul did not return empty. (2Sa 1:23) “Sha’ul and Yehonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not parted. They were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions. (2Sa 1:24) “Daughters of Yisra’ĕl – weep over Sha’ul, Who wrapped you in scarlet, with finery; who decked your robes with ornaments of gold. (2Sa 1:25) “How the mighty have fallen In the midst of the battle! Yehonathan was slain in your high places. (2Sa 1:26) “I am distressed for you, my brother Yehonathan. You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was wondrous, surpassing the love of women. (2Sa 1:27) “How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of battle perish!”

Shema O’ Israel- David Hears and Obeys! Abner sets up his own plan…

(2Sa 2:1) And it came to be afterwards that Dawiḏ inquired of יהוה, saying, “Do I go up to any of the cities of Yehuḏah?” And יהוה said to him, “Go up.” And Dawiḏ said, “Where should I go up?” And He said, “To Ḥeḇron.” (2Sa 2:2) And Dawiḏ went up there, as well as his two wives, Aḥinoʽam the Yizreʽĕlitess, and Aḇiḡayil the widow of Naḇal the Karmelite. (2Sa 2:3) And Dawiḏ brought up the men who were with him, each man with his household, and they dwelt in the cities of Ḥeḇron. (2Sa 2:4) And the men of Yehuḏah came, and anointed Dawiḏ sovereign over the house of Yehuḏah there. They also reported to Dawiḏ, saying, “The men of Yaḇĕsh Gilʽaḏ are they who buried Sha’ul.” (2Sa 2:5) Dawiḏ then sent messengers to the men of Yaḇĕsh Gilʽaḏ, and said to them, “You are blessed of יהוה, for you have shown this kindness to your master, to Sha’ul, that you buried him. (2Sa 2:6) “And now, יהוה show kindness and truth to you, and I am also going to do you well, because you have done this deed. (2Sa 2:7) “And now, let your hands be strengthened and be brave, for your master Sha’ul is dead, and also the house of Yehuḏah has anointed me sovereign over them.” (2Sa 2:8) But Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr, commander of the army of Sha’ul, took Ishbosheth the son of Sha’ul, and brought him over to Maḥanayim, (2Sa 2:9) and set him up to reign over Gilʽaḏ, and over the Ashĕrites, and over Yizreʽĕl, and over Ephrayim, and over Binyamin, and over all Yisra’ĕl. (2Sa 2:10) Ishbosheth, son of Sha’ul, was forty years old when he began to reign over Yisra’ĕl, and he reigned two years. Only the house of Yehuḏah followed Dawiḏ. (2Sa 2:11) And the time that Dawiḏ was sovereign in Ḥeḇron over the house of Yehuḏah was seven years and six months. (2Sa 2:12) And Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr, and the servants of Ishbosheth son of Sha’ul, went out from Maḥanayim to Giḇʽon. (2Sa 2:13) And Yo’aḇ son of Tseruyah, and the servants of Dawiḏ, went out and met them by the pool of Giḇʽon. And they sat down, one on one side of the pool and the other on the other side of the pool. (2Sa 2:14) And Aḇnĕr said to Yo’aḇ, “Let the young men now rise and compete before us.” And Yo’aḇ said, “Let them rise.” (2Sa 2:15) And they rose and went over by number, twelve from Binyamin, followers of Ishbosheth son of Sha’ul, and twelve from the servants of Dawiḏ. (2Sa 2:16) And each one grasped his opponent by the head and thrust his sword in his opponent’s side, and they fell down together. So that place was called the Field of Sharp Swords, which is in Giḇʽon. (2Sa 2:17) And the battle was fierce that day, and Aḇnĕr and the men of Yisra’ĕl were smitten before the servants of Dawiḏ. (2Sa 2:18) And there were three sons of Tseruyah there; Yo’aḇ and Aḇishai and Asah’ĕl. And Asah’ĕl was light on his feet, as one of the gazelles in the field. (2Sa 2:19) And Asah’ĕl pursued Aḇnĕr, and in going he did not turn aside to the right or to the left from following Aḇnĕr. (2Sa 2:20) And Aḇnĕr looked behind him and said, “Are you Asah’ĕl?” And he answered, “I am.” (2Sa 2:21) And Aḇnĕr said to him, “Turn aside to your right hand or to your left, and lay hold on one of the young men and take his armor for yourself.” But Asah’ĕl would not turn aside from following him. (2Sa 2:22) And Aḇnĕr again said to Asah’ĕl, “Turn aside from following me. Why should I smite you to the ground and how then could I face your brother Yo’aḇ?” (2Sa 2:23) But he refused to turn aside, and Aḇnĕr smote him with the blunt end of the spear in the stomach, so that the spear came out of his back. And he fell down there and died on the spot. And it came to be that as many as came to the place where Asah’ĕl fell down and died, stood still. (2Sa 2:24) And Yo’aḇ and Aḇishai pursued Aḇnĕr. And the sun was going down and they came to the hill of Ammah, which overlooks Giyaḥ by the way to the Wilderness of Giḇʽon. (2Sa 2:25) And the children of Binyamin gathered together behind Aḇnĕr and became a single company, and took their stand on top of a hill. (2Sa 2:26) And Aḇnĕr called to Yo’aḇ and said, “Should the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it is bitter in the latter end? And when are you going to say to the people to turn back from pursuing their brothers?” (2Sa 2:27) And Yo’aḇ said, “As Elohim lives, if you had not spoken, then all the people would have given up pursuing their brothers only the next morning.” (2Sa 2:28) Yo’aḇ then blew a ram’s horn, and all the people halted and pursued Yisra’ĕl no further, nor did they fight any more. (2Sa 2:29) And Aḇnĕr and his men went on all that night through the desert plain, and passed over the Yardĕn, and went through all Bithron. And they came to Maḥanayim. (2Sa 2:30) And Yo’aḇ turned back from pursuing Aḇnĕr. And when he had gathered all the people together, there were missing of Dawiḏ’s servants nineteen men and Asah’ĕl. (2Sa 2:31) But the servants of Dawiḏ had smitten, of Binyamin and Aḇnĕr’s men, three hundred and sixty men who died. (2Sa 2:32) And they brought Asah’ĕl and buried him in his father’s tomb, which was in Bĕyth Leḥem. And Yo’aḇ and his men went all night, and they came to Ḥeḇron at daybreak.

Is it battle time or time to seek peace and YHWH’s plan for Israel?

(2Sa 3:1) And the fighting between the house of Sha’ul and the house of Dawiḏ was long drawn out. But Dawiḏ grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Sha’ul grew weaker and weaker. (2Sa 3:2) And sons were born to Dawiḏ in Ḥeḇron. And his first-born was Amnon by Aḥinoʽam the Yizreʽĕlitess; (2Sa 3:3) and his second, Kil’aḇ, by Aḇiḡayil the widow of Naḇal the Karmelite; and the third, Aḇshalom son of Maʽaḵah, the daughter of Talmai, sovereign of Geshur; (2Sa 3:4) and the fourth, Aḏoniyah son of Ḥaggith; and the fifth, Shephatyah son of Aḇital; (2Sa 3:5) and the sixth, Yithreʽam, by Dawiḏ’s wife Eḡlah. These were born to Dawiḏ in Ḥeḇron. (2Sa 3:6) And it came to be, while there was fighting between the house of Sha’ul and the house of Dawiḏ, that Aḇnĕr was strengthening himself in the house of Sha’ul. (2Sa 3:7) And Sha’ul had a concubine, whose name was Ritspah, daughter of Ayah. And Ishbosheth said to Aḇnĕr, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?” (2Sa 3:8) And Aḇnĕr was very displeased at the words of Ishbosheth, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Yehuḏah, that I show kindness to the house of Sha’ul your father, to his brothers, and to his friends today, and have not let you fall into the hand of Dawiḏ, that you charge me today with a sin concerning this woman? (2Sa 3:9) “Elohim does so to Aḇnĕr, and more also, if I do not do for Dawiḏ as יהוה has sworn to him: (2Sa 3:10) to cause the reign to pass over from the house of Sha’ul, and to raise up the throne of Dawiḏ over Yisra’ĕl and over Yehuḏah, from Dan to Be’ĕrsheḇa.” (2Sa 3:11) And he was unable to answer Aḇnĕr another word, because he feared him. (2Sa 3:12) And Aḇnĕr sent messengers on his behalf to Dawiḏ, saying, “Whose is the land?” saying also, “Make your covenant with me, and see, my hand is with you to bring all Yisra’ĕl to you.” (2Sa 3:13) And Dawiḏ said, “Good, I make a covenant with you. Only one matter I am asking of you: you do not see my face unless you first bring Miḵal, daughter of Sha’ul, when you come to see my face.” (2Sa 3:14) Dawiḏ then sent messengers to Ishbosheth son of Sha’ul, saying, “Give me my wife Miḵal, to whom I became engaged for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.” (2Sa 3:15) And Ishbosheth sent and took her from her husband, from Palti’ĕl son of Layish. (2Sa 3:16) But her husband went with her to Baḥurim, going on and weeping behind her. And Aḇnĕr said to him, “Go, and turn back!” And he turned back. (2Sa 3:17) And Aḇnĕr had a word with the elders of Yisra’ĕl, saying, “In time past you were seeking for Dawiḏ to be sovereign over you. (2Sa 3:18) “And now, do it! For יהוה has spoken of Dawiḏ, saying, ‘by the hand of my servant Dawiḏ, I save my people Yisra’ĕl from the hand of the Philistines and the hand of all their enemies.’ ” (2Sa 3:19) And Aḇnĕr also spoke in the hearing of Binyamin. And Aḇnĕr also went to speak in the hearing of Dawiḏ in Ḥeḇron all that seemed good to Yisra’ĕl and all the house of Binyamin. (2Sa 3:20) And Aḇnĕr and twenty men with him came to Dawiḏ at Ḥeḇron. And Dawiḏ made a feast for Aḇnĕr and the men who were with him. (2Sa 3:21) And Aḇnĕr said to Dawiḏ, “Let me arise and go, and gather all Yisra’ĕl to my master the sovereign, and let them make a covenant with you, and you shall reign over all that your being desires.” And Dawiḏ sent Aḇnĕr away, and he went in peace. (2Sa 3:22) And see, the servants of Dawiḏ and Yo’aḇ came from a raid and brought much spoil with them. But Aḇnĕr was not with Dawiḏ in Ḥeḇron, for he had sent him away, and he had gone in peace. (2Sa 3:23) And Yo’aḇ and all the army that was with him came, and they reported to Yo’aḇ, saying, “Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr came to the sovereign, and he sent him away, and he has gone in peace.” (2Sa 3:24) And Yo’aḇ went to the sovereign and said, “What have you done? See, Aḇnĕr has come to you! Why is it that you sent him away, and he has already gone? (2Sa 3:25) “You know that Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr came to deceive you, to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you are doing.” (2Sa 3:26) Yo’aḇ then left Dawiḏ, and he sent messengers after Aḇnĕr, who brought him back from the well of Sirah. But Dawiḏ did not know it. (2Sa 3:27) Thus Aḇnĕr returned to Ḥeḇron, and Yo’aḇ took him aside in the gate to speak with him privately, and there struck him in the stomach, so that he died for the blood of Asah’ĕl his brother. (2Sa 3:28) And when Dawiḏ heard it afterwards, he said, “My reign and I are guiltless before יהוה forever of the blood of Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr. (2Sa 3:29) “Let it rest on the head of Yo’aḇ and on his entire father’s house. And let there never fail to be in the house of Yo’aḇ one who has a discharge or is a leper, who leans on a staff or falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.” (2Sa 3:30) So Yo’aḇ and Aḇishai his brother slew Aḇnĕr, because he had killed their brother Asah’ĕl at Giḇʽon in the battle. (2Sa 3:31) And Dawiḏ said to Yo’aḇ and to all the people who were with him, “Tear your garments, gird yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn for Aḇnĕr.” And Sovereign Dawiḏ followed the coffin. (2Sa 3:32) And they buried Aḇnĕr in Ḥeḇron. And the sovereign lifted up his voice and wept at the grave of Aḇnĕr, and all the people wept. (2Sa 3:33) And the sovereign sang a lament over Aḇnĕr and said, “Should Aḇnĕr die as a fool dies? (2Sa 3:34) “Your hands were not bound nor were your feet put into shackles. As one falls before sons of evil, so you fell.” And all the people wept over him again. (2Sa 3:35) And all the people came to cause Dawiḏ to eat food while it was still day, but Dawiḏ swore, saying, “Elohim do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or whatever else till the sun goes down!” (2Sa 3:36) And all the people took note of it, and it was good in their eyes, since whatever the sovereign did was good in the eyes of all the people. (2Sa 3:37) And all the people and all Yisra’ĕl knew that day that it had not been the sovereign’s intent to kill Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr. (2Sa 3:38) the sovereign also said to his servants, “Do you not know that a prince and a great one has fallen in Yisra’ĕl today? (2Sa 3:39) “And I am weak today, though anointed sovereign. And these men, the sons of Tseruyah, are too harsh for me. Let יהוה repay the evil-doer according to his evil.”

Shalom to you and your loved ones. As we see The Day approaching we should be learning to She ‘mah. We must walk in obedience and hearing and obeying more clearly. It appears most of our constitutional rights are quietly being removed by our President signing International Treaties, which require no Congress or vote from us whatsoever. Gun ownership may soon be illegal in the USA and that will mean much civil unrest. YHWH will provide for His sober and alert servants who are about the Father’s business- let’s make sure that is who we are. Those who are seeking a pre-tribulation rapture will not be prepared for any disruption in food supply or troubles planned by wicked rulers in times just ahead. May the King of Glory find you and your loved ones producing fruit for His Kingdom upon His arrival! (Joe 2:11) And יהוה shall give forth His voice before His army, for His camp is very great, for mighty is the doer of His word. For the day of יהוה is great and very awesome, and who does bear it? (Joe 2:12) “Yet even now,” declares יהוה, “turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.” (Joe 2:13) And tear your heart and not your garments, and turn back to יהוה your Elohim, for He shows favor and is compassionate, patient, and of great kindness, and He shall relent concerning the evil. (Joe 2:14) Who knows – He might turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him, a grain offering and a drink offering for יהוה your Elohim? (Joe 2:15) Blow a ram’s horn (TRUMPET- SHOFAR) in Tsiyon, set apart a fast, call an assembly. (Joe 2:16) Gather the people, set the assembly apart, assemble the elders, and gather the children and nursing babes. Let a bridegroom come out from his room, and a bride from her dressing room. (Joe 2:17) Let the priests, servants of יהוה, weep between the porch and the altar. And let them say, “Spare your people, O יהוה, and do not give your inheritance to reproach, for the gentiles to rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their Elohim?’ ” (Joe 2:18) And let יהוה be jealous for His land, and spare His people. (Joe 2:19) And let יהוה answer and say to His people, “See, I am sending you the grain and the new wine and the oil, and you shall be satisfied by them. And no longer do I make you a reproach among the gentiles. (Joe 2:20) “And the Northerner I shall remove far from you, and drive him away into a dry and deserted land, with his face toward the eastern sea and his rear toward the western sea. And his stench shall come up and his smell rise, for he has done greatly.” (Joe 2:21) Do not fear O soil, be glad and rejoice, for יהוה has done greatly! (Joe 2:22) Do not fear, you beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness shall spring forth, and the tree shall bear its fruit, the fig tree and the vine shall yield their strength. (Joe 2:23) And you children of Tsiyon, be glad and rejoice in יהוה your Elohim, for He shall give you the Teacher of Righteousness, and cause the rain to come down for you, the former rain and the latter rain, as before.

I pray we all are soon anointed by the early and latter rain outpouring of His Ruach (Holy Spirit) that we will produce much fruit! My expectation and hope is that (latter rain outpouring) will come to us in the late Fall Season after rockets fly and judge the harlot church---YIKES!

Shalom to your home loved one,
