Shabbat Shalom Loved One!

Last week we learned about the Abiv. Very timely too- as we also learned that the barley is Abiv and we now know the Biblical New Year Started Wednesday night at Sundown! That means on the evening of the 13th we can have Passover! Abiv starts the year and is the stage of fruitfulness of the barley- thereby allowing Firstfruits shortly after Passover! Note also that when obedience to protocol is followed- YHWH inhabits. Let’s quickly rehearse what we learned last week :( Exo 40:17) and it came to be in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the Dwelling Place was raised up. (Exo 40:18) And Mosheh raised up the Dwelling Place and placed its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and raised up its columns, (Exo 40:19) and spread the tent over the Dwelling Place and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:20) And he took the Witness and put it into the ark, and he put the poles through the rings of the ark, and put the lid of atonement on top of the ark, (Exo 40:21) and brought the ark into the Dwelling Place, and placed the veil of the covering to screen off the ark of the Witness, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:22) And he put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the Dwelling Place, outside the veil, (Exo 40:23) and set the bread in order upon it before יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:24) And he put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the Dwelling Place, (Exo 40:25) and lit the lamps before יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:26) And he put the gold altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the veil, (Exo 40:27) and burned sweet incense on it, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:28) And he set up the covering to the door of the Dwelling Place. (Exo 40:29) And he put the altar of burnt offering before the door of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:30) And he put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water therein for washing. (Exo 40:31) And Mosheh, and Aharon, and his sons washed their hands and their feet with water from it, (Exo 40:32) as they went into the Tent of Meeting, and as they came near the altar. They would wash, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Exo 40:33) And he rose up the courtyard all around the Dwelling Place and the altar, and placed the covering of the courtyard gate. And Mosheh completed the work. (Exo 40:34) And the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the esteem of יהוה filled the Dwelling Place. (Exo 40:35) And Mosheh was not able to come into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud dwelt on it, and the esteem of יהוה filled the Dwelling Place. (Exo 40:36) And when the cloud was taken up from above the Dwelling Place, the children of Yisra’ĕl went onward in all their journeys. (Exo 40:37) But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. (Exo 40:38) The cloud of יהוה was on the Dwelling Place by day, and fire was on it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Yisra’ĕl, in all their journeys.

This week’s Torah Scriptures: Vayikra “And He Called”

Leviticus 1:1-5:19; Isaiah 43:21-44:23; Hebrews 10:1-18;

1 Samuel Chapters 22, 23, and 24

(Lev 1:1) And יהוה called to Mosheh, and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying, (Lev 1:2) “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘When anyone of you brings an offering to יהוה, you bring your offering of the livestock, of the herd or of the flock. (Lev 1:3) ‘If his offering is a burnt offering of the herd, let him bring a male, a perfect one. Let him bring it at the door of the Tent of Meeting, for his acceptance before יהוה. (Lev 1:4) ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him. (Lev 1:5) ‘And he shall slaughter the bull before יהוה. And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the Altar which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 1:6) ‘And he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces. (Lev 1:7) ‘And the sons of Aharon the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay the wood in order on the fire. (Lev 1:8) ‘And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall arrange the pieces, with the head and the fat on the wood which is on the fire on the altar. (Lev 1:9) ‘But its entrails and its legs he washes with water. And the priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה. (Lev 1:10) ‘And if his offering is from the flock, from the sheep or from the goats as a burnt offering, let him bring a male, a perfect one. (Lev 1:11) ‘And he shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before יהוה. And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. (Lev 1:12) ‘And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood which is on the fire on the altar. (Lev 1:13) ‘But the entrails and the legs he washes with water. And the priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה. (Lev 1:14) ‘And if the burnt offering of his offering to יהוה is of birds, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves or young pigeons. (Lev 1:15) ‘And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and shall wring off its head, and burn it on the altar, and its blood shall be drained out at the side of the altar. (Lev 1:16) ‘And he shall remove its crop with its feathers and throw it beside the altar on the east side, into the place for ashes. (Lev 1:17) ‘And he shall split it at its wings, but not sever it. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

First Fruits Grain Offering is next

(Lev 2:1) ‘And when anyone brings a grain offering to יהוה, his offering is to be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it, (Lev 2:2) and he shall bring it to the sons of Aharon, the priests, and he shall take from it his hand filled with fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn it as a remembrance portion on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה. (Lev 2:3) ‘And the rest of the grain offering is for Aharon and his sons, most set-apart of the offerings to יהוה by fire. (Lev 2:4) ‘And when you bring as an offering a grain offering baked in the oven, it is of unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened thin cakes anointed with oil. (Lev 2:5) ‘But if your offering is a grain offering on the griddle, it is of fine flour, unleavened, mixed with oil. (Lev 2:6) ‘Divide it into bits and pour oil on it, it is a grain offering. (Lev 2:7) ‘And if your offering is a grain offering, in a stewing-pot, it is made of fine flour with oil. (Lev 2:8) ‘And you shall bring to יהוה the grain offering that is made of these, and shall present it to the priest, and he shall bring it to the altar. (Lev 2:9) ‘And the priest shall take from the grain offering a remembrance portion, and burn it on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה. (Lev 2:10) ‘And the rest of the grain offering is for Aharon and his sons, most set-apart of the offerings to יהוה made by fire. (Lev 2:11) ‘No grain offering which you bring to יהוה is made with leaven, for you do not burn any leaven or any honey in an offering to יהוה made by fire. (Lev 2:12) ‘Bring them to יהוה as an offering of the first-fruits, but they are not burned on the altar for a sweet fragrance. (Lev 2:13) ‘And season with salt every offering of your grain offering, and do not allow the salt of the covenant of your Elohim to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you bring salt. (Lev 2:14) ‘And if you bring a grain offering of your first-fruits to יהוה, bring for the grain offering of your first-fruits green heads of grain roasted on the fire, crushed heads of new grain. (Lev 2:15) ‘And you shall put oil on it, and lay frankincense on it. It is a grain offering. (Lev 2:16) ‘And the priest shall burn the remembrance portion, from its crushed grain and from its oil, with all the frankincense, an offering made by fire to יהוה.

Peace Offering

(Lev 3:1) ‘And if that which he presents is a peace offering, if he is bringing it of the herd, whether male or female, he brings a perfect one before יהוה. (Lev 3:2) ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it at the door of the Tent of Meeting. And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around. (Lev 3:3) ‘And from the peace offering he shall bring an offering made by fire to יהוה, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, (Lev 3:4) and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver which he removes with the kidneys. (Lev 3:5) ‘And the sons of Aharon shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt offering, which is on the wood, which is on the fire, as an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה. (Lev 3:6) ‘And if that which he presents is from the flock, for a peace offering to יהוה, male or female, he brings a perfect one. (Lev 3:7) ‘If he is bringing a lamb as his offering, then he shall bring it before יהוה, (Lev 3:8) and shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting, and the sons of Aharon shall sprinkle its blood on the altar round about. (Lev 3:9) ‘And from the peace offering he shall bring near – as an offering made by fire to יהוה – its fat, all the fat tail which he removes close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, (Lev 3:10) and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys. (Lev 3:11) ‘And the priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire to יהוה. (Lev 3:12) ‘And if his offering is a goat, then he shall bring it before יהוה, (Lev 3:13) and shall lay his hand on its head and slaughter it before the Tent of Meeting. And the sons of Aharon shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. (Lev 3:14) ‘And from it he shall bring his offering, as an offering made by fire to יהוה, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, (Lev 3:15) and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys. (Lev 3:16) ‘And the priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire for a sweet fragrance.

Eat no fat or blood- or risk being cut off from Israel!

All the fat belongs to יהוה. (Lev 3:17) ‘An everlasting law throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you do not eat any fat or any blood.’ ” (Lev 4:1) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 4:2) “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘When a being sins by mistake against any of the commands of יהוה, which are not to be done, and shall do any of them: (Lev 4:3) ‘If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then he shall bring to יהוה for his sin which he has sinned a young bull, a perfect one, as a sin offering, (Lev 4:4) and he shall bring the bull to the door of the Tent of Meeting before יהוה, and shall lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter the bull before יהוה. (Lev 4:5) ‘And the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and bring it to the Tent of Meeting, (Lev 4:6) and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before יהוה, in front of the veil of the set-apart place. (Lev 4:7) ‘And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before יהוה, which is in the Tent of Meeting, and pour all the blood of the bull at the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 4:8) ‘Then he takes all the fat of the bull as the sin offering, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat which is on the entrails, (Lev 4:9) and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys, (Lev 4:10) as it was taken from the bull of the peace offering. And the priest shall burn them on the altar of the burnt offering. (Lev 4:11) ‘But the skin of the bull, and all its flesh, with its head and legs, its entrails and dung – (Lev 4:12) all of the bull – he shall bring outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. Where the ashes are poured out it is burned. (Lev 4:13) ‘And if the entire congregation of Yisra’ĕl strays by mistake, and the matter has been hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done against any of the commands of יהוה, which are not to be done, and shall be guilty, (Lev 4:14) when the sin which they have sinned becomes known, then the assembly shall bring a young bull for the sin, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 4:15) ‘And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before יהוה, and the bull shall be slaughtered before יהוה. (Lev 4:16) ‘And the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull’s blood to the Tent of Meeting, (Lev 4:17) and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before יהוה, in front of the veil, (Lev 4:18) and put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before יהוה, which is in the Tent of Meeting, and pour all the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 4:19) ‘Then he takes all the fat from it and shall burn it on the altar. (Lev 4:20) ‘And he shall do with the bull as he did with the bull as a sin offering – so shall he do it. And the priest shall make atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them. (Lev 4:21) ‘And he shall bring the bull outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is a sin offering for the assembly. (Lev 4:22) ‘When a ruler sins, and by mistake has done against any of the commands of יהוה his Elohim which are not to be done, and shall be guilty, (Lev 4:23) or if his sin which he has sinned is made known to him, then he shall bring as his offering a buck of the goats, a male, a perfect one. (Lev 4:24) ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and slaughter it at the place where they slaughter the burnt offering before יהוה. It is a sin offering. (Lev 4:25) ‘And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, (Lev 4:26) and burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the slaughtering of the peace offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him. (Lev 4:27) ‘And if any being of the people of the land sins by mistake by doing against any of the commands of יהוה which are not to be done, and shall be guilty, (Lev 4:28) or if his sin which he has sinned shall be made known to him, then he shall bring as his offering a female goat, a perfect one, for his sin which he has sinned. (Lev 4:29) ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slaughter the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering. (Lev 4:30) ‘And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the blood at the base of the altar, (Lev 4:31) then remove all its fat, as fat is removed from the slaughtering of the peace offering. And the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet fragrance to יהוה. And the priest shall make atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him. (Lev 4:32) ‘And if he brings a lamb as his sin offering, he brings a female, a perfect one. (Lev 4:33) ‘And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slaughter it as a sin offering at the place where they slaughter the burnt offering. (Lev 4:34) ‘And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the blood at the base of the altar. (Lev 4:35) ‘Then he removes all its fat, as the fat of the lamb is removed from the slaughtering of the peace offering. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire to יהוה. So the priest shall make atonement for his sin that he has sinned, and it shall be forgiven him. (Lev 5:1) ‘And when a being sins in that he has heard the voice of swearing, and is a witness, or has seen, or has known, but does not reveal it, he shall bear his crookedness. (Lev 5:2) ‘Or when a being touches any unclean matter, or the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping creatures, and it has been hidden from him, he is unclean and guilty. (Lev 5:3) ‘Or when he touches uncleanness of man, any of his uncleanness by which he is unclean, and it has been hidden from him, when he shall know it, then he shall be guilty.

(Lev 5:4) ‘Or when a being swears, speaking rashly with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man swears rashly with an oath, and it has been hidden from him, when he shall know it, then he shall be guilty of one of these. (Lev 5:5) ‘And it shall be, when he is guilty of one of these, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned, (Lev 5:6) and shall bring his guilt offering to יהוה for his sin which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a female goat as a sin offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him, for his sin. (Lev 5:7) ‘And if he is unable to bring a lamb, then he shall bring to יהוה, he who has sinned, two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. (Lev 5:8) ‘And he shall bring them to the priest, who shall bring near that which is for the sin offering first, and wring off its head from its neck, but not sever it. (Lev 5:9) ‘And he shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar, and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering. (Lev 5:10) ‘And he shall prepare the second as a burnt offering according to the right-ruling, and the priest shall make atonement for him, for his sin which he has sinned, and it shall be forgiven him. (Lev 5:11) ‘But if he is unable to bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, then he who sinned shall bring for his offering one-tenth of an ĕphah of fine flour as a sin offering. He puts no oil on it, nor does he put any frankincense on it, for it is a sin offering. (Lev 5:12) ‘And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his hand filled with it as a remembrance portion, and burn it on the altar according to the offerings made by fire to יהוה. It is a sin offering. (Lev 5:13) ‘And the priest shall make atonement for him, for his sin that he has sinned in any of these, and it shall be forgiven him. And it shall be the priest’s, like a grain offering.’ ” (Lev 5:14) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 5:15) “When a being commits a trespass, and has sinned by mistake against the set-apart matters of יהוה, then he shall bring to יהוה as his guilt offering a ram, a perfect one, from the flock, with your valuation in sheqels of silver according to the sheqel of the set-apart place, as a guilt offering. (Lev 5:16) “And he shall make good for the sin that he has done against that which is set-apart, and shall add one-fifth to it and give it to the priest. And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and it shall be forgiven him. (Lev 5:17) “And when any being sins, and has done what is not to be done, against any of the commands of יהוה, though he knew it not, yet he shall be guilty and shall bear his crookedness. (Lev 5:18) “Then he shall bring to the priest a ram, a perfect one, from the flock, with your valuation, as a guilt offering. And the priest shall make atonement for his mistake he committed unintentionally, though he did not know it, and it shall be forgiven him – (Lev 5:19) it is a guilt offering, he was truly guilty before יהוה.”

Wearying YHWH (By not calling on His name!)!

(Isa 43:21) this people I have formed for myself, let them relate my praise. (Isa 43:22) “But you have not called on me, O Yaʽaqoḇ, for you have been weary of me, O Yisra’ĕl. (Isa 43:23) “You have not brought me the sheep for your burnt offerings, nor have you esteemed me with your slaughterings. I have not caused you to serve with grain offerings, nor wearied you with incense. (Isa 43:24) “You have not bought me sweet cane with silver, nor have you satisfied me with the fat of your slaughterings. You have only burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me with your crookednesses. (Isa 43:25) “I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and remember your sins no more. (Isa 43:26) “Remind me, let us enter into judgment, together; relate, that you might be declared right. (Isa 43:27) “Your first father sinned, and your interpreters have transgressed against me. (Isa 43:28) “I have profaned the chief ones of the set-apart place, and I have delivered up Yaʽaqoḇ to the curse, and Yisra’ĕl to scorn. (Isa 44:1) “But now hear, O Yaʽaqoḇ My servant, and Yisra’ĕl whom I have chosen.

He knows all about us and still chose us!

(Isa 44:2) Thus said יהוה who made you and formed you from the womb who helps you, ‘Do not fear, O Yaʽaqoḇ My servant, and Yeshurun1, whom I have chosen. Footnote: 1A poetical title for Yisra’ĕl, meaning the Straight One or the Upright One. This poetical title is also found in Dt. 32:15, 33:5 & 33:26. (Isa 44:3) ‘For I pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I pour my Spirit on your seed, and my blessing on your offspring, (Isa 44:4) and they shall spring up among the grass like willows by streams of water.’ (Isa 44:5) “One says, ‘I belong to יהוה; another calls himself by the name of Yaʽaqoḇ; another writes with his hand, ‘Unto יהוה,’ and names himself by the name of Yisra’ĕl. (Isa 44:6) “Thus said יהוה, Sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, and his Redeemer, יהוה of hosts, ‘I am the First and I am the Last, besides Me there is no Elohim. (Isa 44:7) ‘And who is like me? Let him call and declare it, and lay it before me, since I appointed the everlasting people. And the events that are coming and those that do come, let them declare these to them. (Isa 44:8) ‘Do not fear, nor be afraid. Have I not since made you hear, and declared it? You are my witnesses. Is there an Eloah besides Me? There is no other Rock, I know not one.’ ” (Isa 44:9) Those who make an idol, all of them are emptiness, and their delights do not profit. And they are their own witnesses; they neither see nor know, so that they are put to shame. (Isa 44:10) Who would form a mighty one or cast an idol that is of no value? (Isa 44:11) See, all his companions are ashamed, and the workmen, they are but men. Let them all be gathered together, let them stand up, let them fear; let them be put to shame, altogether. (Isa 44:12) The craftsman in iron with the tools works one in the coals, and fashions it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arms. Even so, he shall be hungry, and has no strength; he drinks no water and is weary. (Isa 44:13) The carpenter stretches out his rule, he outlines it with chalk; he fashions it with a plane, and he outlines it with the compass, and makes it like the figure of a man, according to the comeliness of a man, to remain in the house. (Isa 44:14) He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes cypress and oak, which he raised among the trees of the forest. He has planted a pine, and the rain nourishes it. (Isa 44:15) And it shall be for a man to burn, for he takes some of it and warms himself. He also kindles it and shall bake bread. He also makes a mighty one and bows himself to it – has made it a carved image and falls down before it. (Isa 44:16) Half of it he shall burn in the fire; with this half he eats meat. He roasts a roast, and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, “Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire.” (Isa 44:17) And the rest of it he makes into a mighty one, his carved image. He falls down before it and worships, prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my mighty one.” (Isa 44:18) They do not know nor understand, for He has smeared their eyes from seeing, and their hearts from understanding. (Isa 44:19) And no one recalls it to his heart, nor is there neither knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire, and I have also baked bread on its coals; I have roasted meat and eaten it. And shall I make the rest of it an abomination? Should I fall down before a log of wood?” (Isa 44:20) Feeding on ashes, a deceived heart turns him aside, and he does not deliver his being, nor says, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?” (Isa 44:21) “Remember these matters, O Yaʽaqoḇ, and Yisra’ĕl, for you are my servant! I have formed you, you are my servant, O Yisra’ĕl, do not forget me! (Isa 44:22) “I shall wipe out your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to me, for I shall redeem you.” (Isa 44:23) Sing, O heavens, for יהוה shall do it! Shout O depths of the earth! Break forth into singing, O mountains, forest, and every tree in it! יהוה shall redeem Yaʽaqoḇ, and make Himself clear in Yisra’ĕl.

(Heb 10:1) For the Torah, having a shadow of the good matters to come, and not the image itself of the matters, was never able to make perfect those who draw near with the same slaughter offerings which they offer continually year by year. (Heb 10:2) Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? Because those who served once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins. (Heb 10:3) But in those offerings is a reminder of sins year by year. (Heb 10:4) For it is impossible for blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. (Heb 10:5) Therefore, coming into the world, He says, “Slaughtering and meal offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. (Heb 10:6) “In burnt offerings and offerings for sin You did not delight.1 Footnote: 1Ps. 40:6, 7. (Heb 10:7) “Then I said, ‘See, I come – in the roll of the book it has been written concerning Me – to do Your desire, O Elohim.’ ” (Heb 10:8) Saying above, “Slaughter and meal offering, and burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor delighted in,” which are offered according to the Torah, (Heb 10:9) then He said, “See, I come to do your desire, O Elohim.” He takes away the first to establish the second. (Heb 10:10) By that desire we have been set apart through the offering of the body of יהושע Messiah once for all. (Heb 10:11) And indeed every priest stands day by day doing service, and repeatedly offering the same slaughter offerings which are never able to take away sins. (Heb 10:12) But He, having offered one slaughter offering for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of Elohim, (Heb 10:13) waiting from that time onward until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet. (Heb 10:14) For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are being set apart. (Heb 10:15) And the Set-apart Spirit also witnesses to us, for after having said before, (Heb 10:16) “This is the covenant that I shall make with them after those days, says יהוה, giving my laws into their hearts, and in their minds I shall write them,”1 Footnote: 1Jer. 31:33, Heb. 8:8-12. (Heb 10:17) and, “Their sins and their lawlessness’s (Torah-lessness!) I shall remember no more.” (Heb 10:18) Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer a slaughter offering for sin.

Apparently lots of people were in distress. It seems to speak of this Scripture; (Pro 29:2) When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.

(1Sa 22:1) And Dawiḏ went from there and escaped to the cave of Aḏullam. And his brothers and his entire father’s house heard it, and went down to him there. (1Sa 22:2) Everyone gathered to him who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone bitter in being gathered to him. So he became head over them, and there were about four hundred men with him. (1Sa 22:3) And Dawiḏ went from there to Mitspeh of Mo’aḇ and said to the sovereign of Mo’aḇ, “Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what Elohim does for me.” (1Sa 22:4) And he left them with the sovereign of Mo’aḇ, and they dwelt with him all the time that Dawiḏ was in the stronghold. (1Sa 22:5) And the prophet Gaḏ said to Dawiḏ, “Do not remain in the stronghold. Leave, and go to the land of Yehuḏah.” So Dawiḏ left and went into the Ḥereth woods. (1Sa 22:6) And Sha’ul heard that Dawiḏ and the men who were with him had been discovered, while Sha’ul was in Giḇʽah, sitting under a tamarisk tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants standing about him. (1Sa 22:7) And Sha’ul said to his servants who were standing around him, “Hear now, you Binyamites! Does the son of Yishai give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds? (1Sa 22:8) “For all of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who reveals to me that my son has made a covenant with the son of Yishai. And there is not one of you who is grieved for me or reveals to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day.” (1Sa 22:9) And Do’ĕḡ the Eḏomite, who was set over the servants of Sha’ul, answered and said, “I saw the son of Yishai going to Noḇ, to Aḥimeleḵ son of Aḥituḇ. (1Sa 22:10) “And he inquired of יהוה for him, gave him food, and gave him the sword of Golyath the Philistine.” (1Sa 22:11) And the sovereign sent someone to call Aḥimeleḵ the priest, son of Aḥituḇ, and his entire father’s house, the priests who were in Noḇ. And they all came to the sovereign, (1Sa 22:12) and Sha’ul said, “Hear now, son of Aḥituḇ!” And he answered, “Here I am, my master.” (1Sa 22:13) And Sha’ul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Yishai, by giving him bread and a sword, and have inquired of Elohim for him, to rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day?” (1Sa 22:14) And Aḥimeleḵ answered the sovereign and said, “And who among all your servants is so trustworthy as Dawiḏ, who is the sovereign’s son-in-law, and has turned aside to your counsel, and is esteemed in your house? (1Sa 22:15) “Have I today begun to inquire of Elohim for him? Far be it from me! Let not the sovereign lay a case against his servant, or against any in the house of my father. For your servant knew not of all this, little or much.” (1Sa 22:16) And the sovereign said, “You shall certainly die, Aḥimeleḵ, you and all your father’s house!” (1Sa 22:17) The sovereign then said to the guards who stood about him, “Turn and put the priests of יהוה to death, because their hand also is with Dawiḏ, and because they knew when he fled and did not reveal it to me.” But the servants of the sovereign would not lift their hands to come against the priests of יהוה. (1Sa 22:18) And the sovereign said to Do’ĕḡ, “You turn and come against the priests!” So Do’ĕḡ the Eḏomite turned and came against the priests, and put to death on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen shoulder garment. (1Sa 22:19) And he smote Noḇ, the city of the priests, with the edge of the sword, from men even to women, from children even to nursing infants, and oxen and donkeys and sheep, with the edge of the sword. (1Sa 22:20) And one of the sons of Aḥimeleḵ son of Aḥituḇ, named Eḇyathar, escaped and fled after Dawiḏ. (1Sa 22:21) And Eḇyathar reported to Dawiḏ that Sha’ul had slain the priests of יהוה. (1Sa 22:22) And Dawiḏ said to Eḇyathar, “I knew that day, when Do’ĕḡ the Eḏomite was there, that he would certainly inform Sha’ul. I am accountable for all the lives of your father’s house. (1Sa 22:23) “Remain with me, do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life, but with me you are safe.” (1Sa 23:1) And they informed Dawiḏ, saying, “See, the Philistines are fighting against Qeʽilah, and they are plundering the threshing-floors.”

It’s always best to ask!

(1Sa 23:2) So Dawiḏ inquired of יהוה, saying, “Shall I go and smite these Philistines?” And יהוה said to Dawiḏ, “Go and smite the Philistines, and save Qeʽilah.” (1Sa 23:3) And Dawiḏ’s men said to him, “See, we here in Yehuḏah are afraid, how much more, then, if we go to Qeʽilah against the armies of the Philistines?” (1Sa 23:4) And Dawiḏ inquired of יהוה once again. And יהוה answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Qeʽilah, for I am giving the Philistines into your hand.” (1Sa 23:5) So Dawiḏ and his men went to Qeʽilah and fought with the Philistines, and he led away their livestock and smote them, a great smiting. Thus Dawiḏ saved the inhabitants of Qeʽilah. (1Sa 23:6) And it came to be, when Eḇyathar son of Aḥimeleḵ fled to Dawiḏ at Qeʽilah, that he went down with a shoulder garment in his hand. (1Sa 23:7) And Sha’ul was informed that Dawiḏ had gone to Qeʽilah. Then Sha’ul said, “Elohim has estranged him into my hand, for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.” (1Sa 23:8) And Sha’ul summoned all the people to battle, to go down to Qeʽilah to besiege Dawiḏ and his men.

A blessed man knows what his enemy is plotting and will still show mercy!

(1Sa 23:9) And Dawiḏ knew that Sha’ul was plotting evil against him, and said to Eḇyathar the priest, “Bring the shoulder garment here.” (1Sa 23:10) And Dawiḏ said, “O יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, your servant has heard for certain that Sha’ul seeks to come to Qeʽilah to destroy the city for my sake. (1Sa 23:11) “Are the landowners of Qeʽilah going to surrender me into his hand? Is Sha’ul coming down, as Your servant has heard? O יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, I pray, let Your servant know.” And יהוה said, “He is coming down.” (1Sa 23:12) And Dawiḏ said, “Are the landowners of Qeʽilah going to surrender me and my men into the hand of Sha’ul?” And יהוה said, “They are going to surrender you.” (1Sa 23:13) Then Dawiḏ and his men, about six hundred, arose and left Qeʽilah and went wherever they could go. And Sha’ul was informed that Dawiḏ had escaped from Qeʽilah, and he ceased to go out. (1Sa 23:14) And Dawiḏ remained in the wilderness, in strongholds, and remained in the hill country in the Wilderness of Ziph. And Sha’ul sought him every day, but Elohim did not give him into his hand. (1Sa 23:15) And Dawiḏ saw that Sha’ul had come out to seek his life while Dawiḏ was in the Wilderness of Ziph at Ḥoresh. (1Sa 23:16) And Yehonathan, Sha’ul’s son, arose and went to Dawiḏ at Ḥoresh and strengthened his hand in Elohim, (1Sa 23:17) and said to him, “Do not fear, for the hand of Sha’ul my father is not going to find you, and you are to reign over Yisra’ĕl, and I am to be next to you. Even my father Sha’ul knows that.” (1Sa 23:18) And they made a covenant before יהוה. And Dawiḏ remained at Ḥoresh while Yehonathan went to his own house. (1Sa 23:19) And the Ziphites came up to Sha’ul at Giḇʽah, saying, “Is Dawiḏ not hiding with us in strongholds Ḥoresh, in the hill of Ḥaḵilah, which is on the south of the wasteland? (1Sa 23:20) “And now, O sovereign, by all the desire of your being, come down, come down, and our part is to surrender him into the sovereign’s hand.” (1Sa 23:21) And Sha’ul said, “Blessed are you of יהוה, for you having sympathy with me. (1Sa 23:22) “Please go, prepare yet further and find out and see the place where his hide-out is, who has seen him there. I am told that he is very cunning. (1Sa 23:23) “So look, and learn all about the hiding places where he hides. And you shall come back to me with certainty, then I shall go with you. And it shall be, if he is in the land that I shall search for him throughout all the clans of Yehuḏah.” (1Sa 23:24) And they rose up and went to Ziph before Sha’ul, while Dawiḏ and his men were in the Wilderness of Maʽon, in the desert plain on the south of the wasteland. (1Sa 23:25) And Sha’ul and his men went to seek him, and they informed Dawiḏ, so he went down to the rock, and remained in the Wilderness of Maʽon. And when Sha’ul heard this, he pursued Dawiḏ in the Wilderness of Maʽon. (1Sa 23:26) And Sha’ul went on one side of the mountain, and Dawiḏ and his men on the other side of the mountain. And Dawiḏ was hurrying to get away from Sha’ul, for Sha’ul and his men were surrounding Dawiḏ and his men to take them. (1Sa 23:27) Then a messenger came to Sha’ul, saying, “Hurry and come, for the Philistines have invaded the land!” (1Sa 23:28) So Sha’ul turned back from pursuing Dawiḏ, and went against the Philistines. Therefore they called that place Sela Hammaḥleqoth. (1Sa 23:29) And Dawiḏ went up from there and remained in strongholds at Ěn Geḏi.

We now see mercy from the real anointed of YHWH! (His attribute)

(1Sa 24:1) and it came to be, when Sha’ul had returned from pursuing the Philistines, that it was reported to him, saying, “See, Dawiḏ is in the Wilderness of Ěn Geḏi.” (1Sa 24:2) So Sha’ul took three thousand chosen men from all Yisra’ĕl, and went to seek Dawiḏ and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats. (1Sa 24:3) And he came to the sheepfolds, on the way, and there was a cave. And Shaul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were sitting in the sides of the cave. (1Sa 24:4) and the men of Dawiḏ said to him “See, the day of which יהוה said to you, ‘See, I am giving your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it seems good to you!’ ” And Dawiḏ arose and gently cut off a corner of Sha’ul’s robe. (1Sa 24:5) And it came to be afterward that the heart of Dawiḏ smote him because he had cut the robe of Sha’ul. (1Sa 24:6) So he said to his men, “Far be it from me, by יהוה, that I should do this matter to my master, anointed of יהוה, to stretch out my hand against him, for he is the anointed of יהוה.” (1Sa 24:7) And Dawiḏ dispersed his servants with words, and did not allow them to rise against Sha’ul. And Sha’ul rose up from the cave and went on his way. (1Sa 24:8) And afterward Dawiḏ arose and went out of the cave, and called out to Sha’ul, saying, “My master the sovereign!” And when Sha’ul looked behind him, Dawiḏ bowed with his face to the earth, and did obeisance. (1Sa 24:9) And Dawiḏ said to Sha’ul, “Why do you listen to the words of men who say, ‘See, Dawiḏ seeks to do you evil’? (1Sa 24:10) “See, this day your eyes have seen that יהוה gave you today into my hand in the cave, and one said to slay you. But my eye pardoned you, and I said, ‘I do not stretch out my hand against my master, for he is the anointed of יהוה.’ (1Sa 24:11) “And my father, see! Yea, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not slay you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you, while you are hunting my life to take it. (1Sa 24:12) “Let יהוה judge between you and me, and let יהוה revenge me on you, but my hand is not against you. (1Sa 24:13) “As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘wrong comes from the wrongdoer.’ But my hand is not against you. (1Sa 24:14) “After whom has the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl come out? Whom do you pursue, a dead dog, a flea? (1Sa 24:15) “And יהוה shall be judge, and rightly rule between you and me, and see and plead my case, and rightly rule me out of your hand.” (1Sa 24:16) And it came to be, when Dawiḏ had ended speaking these words to Sha’ul, that Sha’ul said, “Is this your voice, my son Dawiḏ?” So Sha’ul lifted up his voice and wept. (1Sa 24:17) And he said to Dawiḏ, “You are more righteous than I, for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil. (1Sa 24:18) “And you have shown today how you have done well to me, for when יהוה surrendered me into your hand you did not slay me. (1Sa 24:19) “For if a man finds his enemy, shall he let him get away safely? And let יהוה reward you with good for what you have done to me today. (1Sa 24:20) “And now look, I know that you shall certainly reign, and that the reign of Yisra’ĕl shall be established in your hand. (1Sa 24:21) “And now, swear to me by יהוה that you do not cut off my seed after me, nor destroy my name from my father’s house.” (1Sa 24:22) And Dawiḏ swore to Sha’ul. Then Sha’ul went home, and Dawiḏ and his men went up to the stronghold.

Passover is coming quickly! This could be one of our few remaining rehearsals before great trouble (famine, pestilence, and sword) starts worldwide. This is a picture of our Messiah who was the fulfillment of the Passover lamb for our sin! (Exo 12:1) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon in the land of Mitsrayim, saying, (Exo 12:2) “This month is the beginning of months for you, it is the first month of the year for you. (Exo 12:3) “Speak to all the congregation of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month each one of them is to take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. (Exo 12:4) ‘And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the beings, according to each man’s need you make your count for the lamb. (Exo 12:5) ‘Let the lamb be a perfect one, a year old male. Take it from the sheep or from the goats. (Exo 12:6) ‘And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. (Remember the 14th starts the evening of the thirteenth of the declaration of the New Moon and the barley ABIV!) Then all the assembly of the congregation of Yisra’ĕl shall kill it between the evenings. (Exo 12:7) ‘And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. (Exo 12:8) ‘And they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted in fire – with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. (Exo 12:9) ‘Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire, its head with its legs and its inward parts. (Exo 12:10) ‘And do not leave of it until morning, and what remains of it until morning you are to burn with fire. (Exo 12:11) ‘And this is how you eat it: your loins girded your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Passover of יהוה. (Exo 12:12) ‘And I shall pass through the land of Mitsrayim on that night, and shall smite all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim, both man and beast. And on all the mighty ones of Mitsrayim I shall execute judgment. I am יהוה. (Exo 12:13) ‘And the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I shall pass over you, and let the plague not come on you to destroy you when I smite the land of Mitsrayim. (Exo 12:14) ‘And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall observe it as a festival to יהוה throughout your generations – observe it as a festival, an everlasting law. (Exo 12:15) ‘Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. Indeed on the first day you cause leaven to cease from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that being shall be cut off from Yisra’ĕl. (Exo 12:16) ‘And on the first day is a set-apart gathering, and on the seventh day you have a set-apart gathering. No work at all is done on them, only that which is eaten by every being, that alone is prepared by you. (Exo 12:17) ‘And you shall guard the Festival of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I brought your divisions out of the land of Mitsrayim. And you shall guard this day throughout your generations, an everlasting law. (Exo 12:18) ‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening. (Exo 12:19) ‘For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, that same being shall be cut off from the congregation of Yisra’ĕl, whether sojourner or native of the land. (Exo 12:20) ‘Do not eat that which is leavened – in all your dwellings you are to eat unleavened bread.’ ” (Exo 12:21) And Mosheh called for all the elders of Yisra’ĕl and said to them, “Go out and take lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and slaughter the Passover lamb. (Exo 12:22) “And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin, and you, none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. (Exo 12:23) “And יהוה shall pass on to smite the Mitsrites, and shall see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and יהוה shall pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you. (Exo 12:24) “And you shall guard this word as a law for you and your sons, forever. (Exo 12:25) “And it shall be, when you come to the land which יהוה gives you, as He promised, that you shall guard this service. (Exo 12:26) “And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What does this service mean to you?’ (Exo 12:27) then you shall say, ‘It is the Passover slaughtering of יהוה, who passed over the houses of the children of Yisra’ĕl in Mitsrayim when He smote the Mitsrites and delivered our households.’ ” And the people bowed their heads and did obeisance. (Exo 12:28) And the children of Yisra’ĕl went away and did so – as יהוה had commanded Mosheh and Aharon, so they did. (Exo 12:29) And it came to be at midnight that יהוה smote all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first-born of livestock. (Exo 12:30) And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants, and all the Mitsrites. And there was a great cry in Mitsrayim, for there was not a house where there was not a dead one. (Exo 12:31) Then he called for Mosheh and Aharon by night, and said, “Arise, go out from the midst of my people, both you and the children of Yisra’ĕl. And go, serve יהוה as you have said. (Exo 12:32) “Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and go. Then you shall bless me too.” (Exo 12:33) And the Mitsrites urged the people, to hasten to send them away out of the land. For they said, “We are all dying!” (Exo 12:34) And the people took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their garments on their shoulders. (Exo 12:35) And the children of Yisra’ĕl had done according to the word of Mosheh, and they had asked from the Mitsrites objects of silver, and objects of gold, and garments. (Exo 12:36) And יהוה gave the people favor in the eyes of the Mitsrites, so that they gave them what they asked, and they plundered the Mitsrites.

PS2: I had a nice 30 minute visit with Michael Rood yesterday and he is doing well on his healthy detoxification from Gulf war vaccines and other atrocities our government has done. He said he may go directly to Israel from Florida still unsure as we await the troubles of the upcoming Zech 5 and likely Ezek 38-9 thermonuclear exchange approaching. Let’s Shema O Israel (hear and obey)- be about our Father’s business!
