Shabbat Shalom Loved One!
What a week! Obamacare is looking imminent (passed the US House), civil unrest in the USA is a possibility or maybe even a probability, I pulled a muscle in my thigh grabbing a duck that was attacking Bonnie and I in Tennessee and 100 other events that made the week less than favorable- ha-ha! (Funny in retrospect, but not funny at the time) Still, there is much to be thankful for! The good news is the duck was unsuccessful, no one is currently invading our country, we still have food, our money (if we have any) still has value, we are mostly free as Americans to move about the country, and nobody is shooting at us just now! True, I suspect that those processes may all be approaching, but like the ostrich’s approach sticking its head in the sand as destruction approaches, most Americans are expecting things to soon get better. Not if I’ve heard from Heaven properly and I am thankful that is a big IF! Thanks for your prayers as we are having meetings for the next few weeks for some lovely members of the “FAMILY” here in Alabama and after that meetings for family in Tennessee. However, the day is far spent; it is time in the calm before the storm, to be about our Father’s business.
Soon, I have much to address about the start of the New Year and the barley Abiv but that will have to wait for several days as I am not through researching and praying. Truthseeker- YHWH willing, you may expect another study from me next week. Remember though that as we arrive closer and closer to The Day of the Lord, the Day of YHWH, we can expect to be restored to more and more truth. We must keep our hearts and minds in a “repentance mode” as He doesn’t change and we are required to- if we expect to be part of the bride who makes herself ready; without spot or blemish. Loved one, let’s make our hearts tender and moldable by Him and Him alone that we might be found doing our Father’s business when He arrives!
Sometimes Loved One, the road must be repeated. That is why it is a Torah Cycle. (Comment: the cycle is likened to the ancient path we are to return to; a path is often considered “a beaten path” due to returning to it often) We must learn to seek YHWH for His love and compassion to download to us; for others in our lives. Sometimes we only understand after returning many times. We can read the Scriptures over and over and then out of nowhere it seems, YHWH reveals new Truth to us! I can remember telling Yahshua once that the job description of the angelic beings (Seraphim) flying around the Throne Room in Heaven and saying holy, holy is YHWH might get boring after a few thousand years. (Isa 6:1) In the year that Sovereign Uzziyah died, I saw יהוה sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the Hĕḵal. (Temple) (Isa 6:2) Above it stood seraphim. Each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. (Isa 6:3) And one cried to another and said, “Set-apart, set-apart, set-apart is יהוה of hosts; all the earth is filled with His esteem!” (Comment: Many versions declare holy, holy is YHWH) (Isa 6:4) And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. (Isa 6:5) And I said, “Woe to me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips – for my eyes have seen the sovereign, יהוה of hosts.” Then our loving King dropped in my spirit that He reveals more of His glory to them. (Comment: glory according to Moses’ report was a revealing of more of His goodness and mercy) This creates an instant surge of joy and enthusiasm in these angelic beings! In like manner He reveals to us more of Himself as we seek Him with all our hearts. Why is this so important? Obviously in fiery trials and testing’s we sometimes feel abandoned and at our end. Some even become hope-less. We must join ourselves to Him by getting in His presence and being restored- regularly! (Rom 5:1) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with YHWH through our Master Yahshua Messiah, (Rom 5:2) through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of YHWH. (Rom 5:3) And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; (Rom 5:4) and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; (Rom 5:5) and hope does not disappoint, because the love of YHWH has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Rom 5:6) While we were still helpless, (Hopeless also?) at the right time Messiah died for the ungodly. (Rom 5:7) For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. (Rom 5:8) But YHWH demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet transgressors of Torah (sinners), Messiah died for us. (Rom 5:9) Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of YHWH through Him.
Truth Seekers, we have studied and reviewed much about the coming darkness and fiery trials we can expect in the days ahead. Please do remember the Scriptures declare this Exodus will be a far greater deliverance than even Moses and Israel crossing the Red Sea. Thank you for your prayers and intercession as I am meeting part of our family of loved ones in South Africa and they are delightful people indeed!
Once again we need to remind ourselves why you and I and they are Family and as such you (we) are “Loved Ones”! I consider all “Truth Seekers” family and therefore also loved ones. Once again, here’s why; (Matthew 12:46) While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood without, desiring to speak with him.(Matthew 12:47) Then one said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brothers stand without, desiring to speak with you. (Matthew 12:48) But he answered and said unto him that told him, who is my mother? And who are my brothers?
(Matthew 12:49) And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, behold my mother and my brothers! (Matthew 12:50) For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Understand if we are willing to humble ourselves and submit to the will of YHWH and do the Father’s will (His TORAH! /Instructions) we are Yahshua’s (Jesus) family!
We should also realize a truth: Jeremiah prophesied that in the DAY OF AFFLICTION (Comment: Hebrew idiom for Jacob’s Trouble or also known as the Great Tribulation in the last days) we would recognize (YHWH reveals truth) and become aware of the fact that we have added to and subtracted from His FEASTS and commands! These are lies that really don’t please Him because they have pagan roots and are manmade (added and subtracted from the WORD) traditions that make the word of YHWH of none effect! (Jer 16:19) O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.(Deu 4:2) “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it1, so as to guard the commands of יהוה your Elohim which I am commanding you. Footnote: 1See also 12:32, Prov. 30:6, Rev. 22:18-19.
Can we even imagine thinking we were serving YHWH our whole lives’ and hear Him tell us we inherited lies and were workers of lawlessness- that He never knew us and to depart from us; that we actually were disobedient following pagan traditions we inherited? This experience would and will cause many to go screaming in horror, weeping and gnashing of teeth, into the flames of hell! Heaven- Oh Yah- Change us NOW! Reveal your TRUTH to us that we may be pleasing in your sight! Nothing is too hard for you YHWH!
There it is in a nutshell once again. You are family if you are humble enough to be a truth searcher. One who desires truth and obedience to your Creator- more than you want acceptance from men and their traditions. This group would include us who are willing to pick up our burial stake and follow Him. Why do I use burial stake? Because you and I must be willing to decrease as He increases in us. He changes not and that only leaves you and I to do the changing, Yahshua put it like this: (Matthew 16:24) Then said Yahshua to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (Matthew 16:25) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 16:26) For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
We must be willing to humble ourselves and accept the engrafted word when we discover truth. This losing our life for Him is not just physical. As we are changed into His image we are losing our old person (ality) and gaining HIM! To the degree we are hungry for Him we will be changed- no more or less. (Matthew 5:6) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
How do we hunger and thirst for righteousness?
(James 4:7) So then subject (submit/humble) yourselves to Elohim. Resist the devil1 and he shall flee from you. Footnote: 1Or adversary. (James 4:8) Draw near to Elohim and He shall draw near to you. Cleanse hands, sinners. And cleanse the hearts, you double-minded! (James 4:9) Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to dejection. (James 4:10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Master, and He shall lift you up. You and I must change and receive the engrafted word of LIFE, (HUMBLE OURSELVES) turn in repentance and OBEY HIM. We can no longer say we love Him and not do what He says! (Luke 6:46) And why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Do we call Him Lord and Master but not obey Him? Are we of those that think His LAW (Commentary: Law was translated that but it is Torah-Instructions in Hebrew) is done away with and ALL fulfilled? Hopefully, we will rethink that position! The Spring Feasts alone are fulfilled. Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Shavuot were fulfilled down to the day and hour! He was the Passover Lamb, 3 days later the High Priest was still in seclusion as was prescribed of the High Priest prior to offering the thanksgiving for the first fruits of the Earth, when He said “Don’t touch me Mary, I have not yet ascended to My Father.” He is and was the High Priest! Seven sevens (weeks) later He sent the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) on Shavuot, the anniversary of giving the Torah (Law) at Mt. Sinai. He came the first time to be Messiah Ben Joseph, the suffering servant to be the Lamb of YHWH (God) sacrifice.
He is coming a second time very soon as Messiah Ben David, the Reigning King! He will rule His Kingdom from Jerusalem! Is He now ruling? NO. It is not all fulfilled! Let’s look at what Yahshua said about the Law being done away with and WHEN this will occur! (Mat 5:17) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (Mat 5:18) For verily I say unto you, until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, until all be fulfilled. (Mat 5:19) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Even to us casual observers, heaven and earth have not passed! Let’s acknowledge that fact as a truth and return to Him as we study this week’s portion and allow Him to restore ALL things- especially us!
(Jer 30:3) 'For behold, days are coming,' declares YHWH, 'when I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel and Judah.' (Comment: this means you and I who are grafted into Israel by grace by faith in Yahshua and are heirs now of Abraham according to the promise) YHWH says, 'I will also bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers and they shall possess it.'" (Jer 30:16) 'Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity; and those who plunder you will be for plunder, And all who prey upon you I will give for prey. (Jer 30:17) 'For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,' declares YHWH, 'because they have called you an outcast, saying: "It is Zion; no one cares for her."' (Jer 30:18) "Thus says YHWH, 'Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his dwelling places; and the city will be rebuilt on its ruin, and the palace will stand on its rightful place. (Jer 30:19) 'From them will proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who celebrate; and I will multiply them and they will not be diminished; I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant. (Jer 30:20) 'Their children also will be as formerly, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all their oppressors. (Jer 30:21) 'Their leader shall be one of them, and their ruler shall come forth from their midst; and I will bring him near and he shall approach me; for who would dare to risk his life to approach me?' declares YHWH. (Jer 30:22) 'You shall be my people, and I will be your Elohim.'" Let’s now turn our hearts to this week’s Torah reading.
Here are this week’s Torah Scriptures: TZAV “Command”
Leviticus 6:1-8:36; Jeremiah 7:21- 8:3 and 9:22-23; Hebrews 8:1-6;
And 1 Samuel Chapters 25, 26, 27 and 28.
Repentance and Atonement!
(Lev 6:1) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 6:2) “When any being sins, and committed a trespass against יהוה, and has lied to his neighbor about a deposit, or about a pledge, or about a robbery, or shall extort from his neighbor, (Lev 6:3) or has found what was lost and has lied concerning it, or did swear falsely, so that he sins in regard to any one of all these that a man does, (Lev 6:4) then it shall be, when he sins, and shall be guilty, that he shall return what he took by robbery, or what he has extorted, or the deposit which was deposited with him, or the lost item which he found, (Lev 6:5) or all that about which he swore falsely. He shall repay its total value, add one-fifth more to it, and give it to which it belongs, on the day of his guilt offering. (Lev 6:6) “Then he brings his guilt offering to יהוה, a ram, a perfect one, from the flock, with your valuation, as a guilt offering, to the priest. (Lev 6:7) “And the priest shall make atonement for him before יהוה, and he shall be forgiven for whatever he did that made him guilty.”
Protocol (instruction- Torah and commands) for approaching our Creator- with the altar fire and service; the developing need for the 24 courses of priests
(Lev 6:8) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 6:9) “Command Aharon and his sons, saying, ‘This is the Torah of the burnt offering: This is the burnt offering, because it is burned on the altar all night until morning, and the fire of the altar is kept burning on it. (Lev 6:10) ‘And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and put his linen trousers on his body, and shall take up the ashes of the burnt offering which the fire has consumed on the altar, and shall put them beside the altar. (Lev 6:11) ‘And he shall take off his garments, and put on other garments, and shall bring the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. (Lev 6:12) ‘And the fire on the altar is kept burning on it, it is not put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and arrange the burnt offering on it, and shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings – (Lev 6:13) fire is continually kept burning on the altar, it is not put out. (Lev 6:14) ‘And this is the Torah of the grain offering: The sons of Aharon shall bring it near before יהוה, in front of the altar, (Lev 6:15) and shall take from it with his hand from the fine flour of the grain offering, and from its oil, and all the frankincense which is on the grain offering, and shall burn it on the altar for a sweet fragrance, as its remembrance portion to יהוה. (Lev 6:16) ‘Then Aharon and his sons eat the rest of it. It is eaten with unleavened bread, in the set-apart place. They eat it in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 6:17) ‘It is not baked with leaven. I have given it to them as their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most set-apart, like the sin offering and the guilt offering. (Lev 6:18) ‘All the males among the children of Aharon eat it – a law forever in your generations concerning the offerings made by fire to יהוה. All that touches them is to be set-apart.’ ” (Lev 6:19) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 6:20) “This is the offering of Aharon and his sons, which they bring near to יהוה, beginning on the day when he is anointed: one-tenth of an ĕphah of fine flour as a daily grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it at night. (Lev 6:21) “It is made on a griddle with oil. Bring it in mixed; bring the baked portions of the grain offering near, a sweet fragrance to יהוה. (Lev 6:22) “And the anointed priest from among his sons, who is in his place, prepares it – a law forever to יהוה. All of it has to be burned, (Lev 6:23) and every grain offering for the priest is completely burned, it is not eaten.” (Lev 6:24) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 6:25) “Speak to Aharon and to his sons, saying, ‘this is the Torah of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering is slaughtered before יהוה, it is most set-apart. (Lev 6:26) ‘The priest who is making atonement eats it, in the set-apart place it is eaten, in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 6:27) ‘All that touches its flesh is to be set-apart. And when its blood is sprinkled on any garment, you wash that on which it was sprinkled, in a set-apart place. (Lev 6:28) ‘But the earthen vessel in which it is cooked is to be broken. And if it is cooked in a bronze pot, then it is scoured and rinsed in water. (Lev 6:29) ‘Every male among the priests eats it, it is most set-apart. (Lev 6:30) ‘And no sin offering from which any of the blood is brought into the Tent of Meeting, to make atonement in the set-apart place, is eaten, it is burned with fire. (Lev 7:1) ‘And this is the Torah of the guilt offering – it is most set-apart. (Lev 7:2) ‘The guilt offering is slaughtered in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering, and its blood is sprinkled on the altar all around. (Lev 7:3) ‘Then he brings from it all its fat: the fat tail and the fat that covers the entrails, (Lev 7:4) and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the appendage on the liver, which he removes with the kidneys. (Lev 7:5) ‘And the priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made by fire to יהוה. It is a guilt offering. (Lev 7:6) ‘Every male among the priests eats it. It is eaten in the set-apart place; it is most set-apart. (Lev 7:7) ‘The guilt offering is like the sin offering, there is one Torah for them both: the priest, who makes atonement with it, it is his. (Lev 7:8) ‘And the priest who brings anyone’s burnt offering, the skin of the burnt offering which he has brought is the priest’s, it is his. (Lev 7:9) ‘And every grain offering that is baked in the oven and all that is prepared in the stewing-pot, or on a griddle, is the priest’s who brings it, it is his. (Lev 7:10) ‘And every grain offering mixed with oil, or dry, is for all the sons of Aharon, for all alike. (Lev 7:11) ‘And this is the Torah of the slaughtering of peace offerings which is brought to יהוה: (Lev 7:12) ‘If he brings it for a thanksgiving, then he shall bring with the slaughtering of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened thin cakes anointed with oil, or cakes of finely blended flour mixed with oil. (Lev 7:13) ‘Besides the cakes, he brings as his offering leavened bread together with the slaughtering of thanksgiving of his peace offering. (Lev 7:14) ‘And from it he shall bring one cake from each offering as a contribution to יהוה: to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering, it is his. (Lev 7:15) ‘As for the flesh of the slaughtering of his peace offering for thanksgiving, it is eaten the same day it is offered, he does not leave any of it until morning. (Lev 7:16) ‘And if the offering he brings is a vow or a voluntary offering, it is eaten the same day that he brings his slaughtering, and what is left of it is eaten the next day, (Lev 7:17) but whatever is left of the flesh of the slaughtering on the third day is burned with fire. (Lev 7:18) ‘However, if any of the flesh of his peace offering is eaten at all on the third day, it is not accepted. It is not reckoned to him who brings it, it is unclean to him, and the being who eats of it bears his crookedness. (Lev 7:19) ‘And the flesh that touches that which is unclean is not eaten, it is burned with fire. And as for the clean flesh, all who are clean eat of it. (Lev 7:20) ‘But the being who eats the flesh of the peace offering that belongs to יהוה, while he is unclean, that being shall be cut off from his people. (Lev 7:21) ‘And when a being who touches that which is unclean, of the uncleanness of man, or of the uncleanness of beast, or of any unclean swarming creature, and shall eat the flesh of the peace offering that belongs to יהוה, that being shall be cut off from his people.’ ”
DO NOT EAT FAT!
(Lev 7:22) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 7:23) “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘Do not eat any fat, of bull or sheep or goat. (Lev 7:24) ‘And the fat of a dead body, and the fat of what is torn, is used for any purpose, but you do not eat it at all. (Lev 7:25) ‘For whoever eats the fat of the beast of which men bring as an offering made by fire to יהוה, even the being who eats it shall be cut off from his people. (Lev 7:26) ‘And do not eat any blood in any of your dwellings, of bird or of beast. (Lev 7:27) ‘Any being who eats any blood, even that being shall be cut off from his people.’ ” (Lev 7:28) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 7:29) “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘He who brings his peace offering to יהוה brings his offering to יהוה from the slaughtering of his peace offering. (Lev 7:30) ‘With his own hands he bring the offerings made by fire to יהוה. He brings the fat with the breast, to be waved as a wave offering before יהוה. (Lev 7:31) ‘And the priest shall burn the fat on the altar, but the breast shall be Aharon’s and his sons.’ (Lev 7:32) ‘And the right thigh you give to the priest as a contribution from your peace offerings. (Lev 7:33) ‘He among the sons of Aharon, who brings the blood of the peace offering, and the fat, the right thigh is his for a portion. (Lev 7:34) ‘For the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution I have taken from the children of Yisra’ĕl, from their peace offerings, and I give them to Aharon the priest and to his sons, as a law forever, from the children of Yisra’ĕl.’ ” (Lev 7:35) This is the anointed portion for Aharon and the anointed portion for his sons, from the offerings made by fire to יהוה, on the day when Mosheh presented them to serve as priests to יהוה, (Lev 7:36) which יהוה commanded to be given to them by the children of Yisra’ĕl, on the day that He anointed them, a law forever throughout their generations. (Lev 7:37) This is the Torah of the burnt offering, of the grain offering, and of the sin offering, and of the guilt offering, and of the ordinations, and of the peace offering, (Lev 7:38) which יהוה commanded Mosheh on Mount Sinai, on the day when He commanded the children of Yisra’ĕl to bring their offerings to יהוה, in the Wilderness of Sinai. (Lev 8:1) And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, (Lev 8:2) “Take Aharon and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bull of the sin offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread, (Lev 8:3) and assemble all the congregation at the door of the Tent of Meeting.” (Lev 8:4) And Mosheh did as יהוה commanded him, and the congregation was assembled at the door of the Tent of Meeting. (Lev 8:5) And Mosheh said to the congregation, “This is the word יהוה commanded to be done.” (Lev 8:6) So Mosheh brought Aharon and his sons and washed them with water, (Lev 8:7) and put the long shirt on him, and girded him with the girdle, and dressed him in the robe, and put the shoulder garment on him, and girded him with the embroidered band of the shoulder garment, and with it tied the shoulder garment on him, (Lev 8:8) and put the breastplate on him, and put the Urim and the Tummim in the breastplate, (Lev 8:9) and put the turban on his head. And on the turban, on its front, he put the golden plate, the set-apart sign of dedication, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Lev 8:10) And Mosheh took the anointing oil and anointed the Dwelling Place and all that was in it, and set them apart. (Lev 8:11) And he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its utensils, and the basin and its base, to set them apart. (Lev 8:12) And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aharon’s head and anointed him, to set him apart. (Lev 8:13) And Mosheh brought the sons of Aharon and put long shirts on them, and girded them with girdles, and put turbans on them, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Lev 8:14) And he brought the bull for the sin offering, and Aharon and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull for the sin offering, (Lev 8:15) and it was slaughtered. And Mosheh took the blood, and put some on the horns of the altar all around with his finger, and cleansed the altar. And he poured the blood at the base of the altar, and set it apart, to make atonement for it. (Lev 8:16) And he took all the fat that was on the entrails, and the appendage on the liver, and the two kidneys with their fat, and Mosheh burned them on the altar. (Lev 8:17) And the bull, and its skin, and its flesh, and its dung, he burned with fire outside the camp, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Lev 8:18) And he brought the ram of the burnt offering, and Aharon and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram, (Lev 8:19) and it was slaughtered. And Mosheh sprinkled the blood on the altar all around, (Lev 8:20) and he cut the ram into pieces. And Mosheh burned the head, and the pieces, and the fat, (Lev 8:21) and he washed the entrails and the legs in water. And Mosheh burned the entire ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a sweet fragrance, and an offering made by fire to יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Lev 8:22) And he brought the second ram, the ram of ordination, and Aharon and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram, (Lev 8:23) and it was slaughtered. And Mosheh took some of its blood and put it on the tip of Aharon’s right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. (Lev 8:24) And he brought near the sons of Aharon, and Mosheh put some of the blood on the tips of their right ears, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. And Mosheh sprinkled the blood on the altar all around, (Lev 8:25) and took the fat and the fat tail, and all the fat that was on the entrails, and the appendage on the liver, and the two kidneys and their fat, and the right thigh, (Lev 8:26) and from the basket of unleavened bread that was before יהוה he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of bread anointed with oil, and one thin cake, and put them on the fat and on the right thigh, (Lev 8:27) and placed all these in the hands of Aharon and in the hands of his sons, and waved them as a wave offering before יהוה. (Lev 8:28) Mosheh then took them from their hands and burned them on the altar, on the burnt offering. They were ordinations for a sweet fragrance. It was an offering by fire to יהוה. (Lev 8:29) And Mosheh took the breast and waved it, a wave offering before יהוה. It was Mosheh’s portion of the ram of ordination, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh. (Lev 8:30) And Mosheh took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood which was on the altar, and sprinkled it on Aharon, on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him. And he set apart Aharon, his garments, and his sons, and the garments of his sons with him. (Lev 8:31) And Mosheh said to Aharon and his sons, “Cook the flesh at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and eat it there with the bread that is in the basket of the ordinations, as I have commanded, saying, ‘Aharon and his sons are to eat it.’ (Lev 8:32) “Then burn the rest of the flesh and the bread with fire. (Lev 8:33) “And do not go outside the door of the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed – for he fills your hands for seven days. (Lev 8:34) “יהוה has commanded to do, as he has done this day, to make atonement for you. (Lev 8:35) “And stay at the door of the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days. And you shall guard the duty of יהוה, and not die, for so I have been commanded.” (Lev 8:36) And Aharon and his sons did all the words that יהוה had commanded by the hand of Mosheh.
Obedience brings blessings while disobedience brings curses (death)!
(Jer 7:21) Thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “Add your burnt offerings to your slaughterings and eat meat. (Jer 7:22) “For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim, about matters of burnt offerings or slaughterings. (Jer 7:23) “But this word I did command them, saying, ‘Obey My voice,1 and I shall be your Elohim, and you be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that it is well with you.’ Footnote: 1Aḇraham did so (Gen. 26:5), and יהוה again laid down this condition for Yisra’ĕl to be His people (Ex. 19:5), and the same applies to us (Jn. 3:36, Rom. 6:16, Heb. 4:11, Heb. 5:9, Rev. 22:14). (Jer 7:24) “But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in the counsels, in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward. (Jer 7:25) “From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Mitsrayim until this day, I have even sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. (Jer 7:26) “But they did not obey me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did evil, more than their fathers. (Jer 7:27) “And you shall speak all these words to them, though they do not listen to you. And you shall also call to them, though they do not answer you. (Jer 7:28) “But you shall say to them, ‘This is a nation that did not obey the voice of יהוה their Elohim, nor did they accept instruction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth. (Jer 7:29) ‘Cut off your hair and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights, for יהוה has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.’ (Jer 7:30) “For the children of Yehuḏah have done what is evil in my eyes,” declares יהוה. “They have set their abominations in the house which is called by My Name, to defile it. (Jer 7:31) “And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into my heart. (Jer 7:32) “Therefore see, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when it shall no longer be called Topheth, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter, for they shall bury in Topheth until no room is left. (Jer 7:33) “And the corpses of this people shall be food for the birds of the heavens and for the beasts of the earth, with none to frighten them away. (Jer 7:34) “And in the cities of Yehuḏah and in the streets of Yerushalayim I shall make to cease the voice of rejoicing and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. For the land shall become a waste! (Jer 8:1) “At that time,” declares יהוה, “they shall bring the bones of the sovereigns of Yehuḏah, and the bones of its heads, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, out of their graves, (Jer 8:2) and shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of the heavens, which they have loved and which they have served and after which they have walked, which they have sought, and to which they have bowed themselves. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be for dung on the face of the earth. (Jer 8:3) “And death shall be preferred to life by all the rest of those who remain of this evil people, who remain in all the places where I have driven them,” declares יהוה of hosts.
Boasting?
(Jer 9:22) Speak, “Thus declares יהוה, ‘The corpses of men shall fall as dung on the face of the field, like cuttings after the reaper, with none to gather them.’ ” (Jer 9:23) Thus said יהוה, “Let not the wise boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty boast in his might, nor let the rich boast in his riches, (Jer 9:24) but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am יהוה, doing kindness, right-ruling, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” declares יהוה.
High Priest: Yahshua!
(Heb 8:1) Now the summary of what we are saying is: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness in the heavens, (Heb 8:2) and who serves in the set-apart place and of the true Tent, which יהוה set up, and not man. (Heb 8:3) For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and slaughters. So it was also necessary for this One to have somewhat to offer. (Heb 8:4) For if indeed He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the Torah, (Heb 8:5) who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly, as Mosheh was warned when he was about to make the Tent. For He said, “See that you make all according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” (Heb 8:6) But now He has obtained a more excellent service, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was constituted on better promises.
Never return a blessing with scoffing like Naḇal!
(1Sa 25:1) And Shemu’ĕl died, and all Yisra’ĕl gathered and mourned for him, and buried him at his home in Ramah. And Dawiḏ arose and went down into the Wilderness of Paran. (1Sa 25:2) Now there was a man in Maʽon and his work was in Karmel, and the man was very great. And he had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats. He came to be shearing his sheep in Karmel. (1Sa 25:3) And the name of the man was Naḇal, and the name of his wife Aḇiḡayil. And she was a woman of good understanding and good-looking. But the man was hard and evil in his doings. And he was of Kalĕḇ. (1Sa 25:4) And Dawiḏ heard in the wilderness that Naḇal was shearing his sheep. (1Sa 25:5) And Dawiḏ sent ten young men, and Dawiḏ said to the young men, “Go up to Karmel, and you shall come to Naḇal, and greet him in my name, (1Sa 25:6) and say this, ‘Long life and peace to you! And peace to your house and peace to all that you have! (1Sa 25:7) ‘And now, I have heard that you have shearers. Now your shepherds have been with us. We did not put them to shame, and not a speck of theirs was missing all the days they were in Karmel. (1Sa 25:8) ‘Ask your young men, and let them inform you. So let my young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a good day. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son Dawiḏ.’ ” (1Sa 25:9) and the young men of Dawiḏ came and spoke to Naḇal according to all these words in the name of Dawiḏ, and waited. (1Sa 25:10) But Naḇal answered the servants of Dawiḏ and said, “Who is Dawiḏ, and who is the son of Yishai? The servants, who are running away from their masters, have become many nowadays. (1Sa 25:11) “And shall I take my bread and my water and my meat that I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?” (1Sa 25:12) And the young men of Dawiḏ turned around on their way and went back, and came and reported to him all these words. (1Sa 25:13) And Dawiḏ said to his men, “Each one gird on his sword.” So they each girded on his sword, and Dawiḏ also girded on his sword. And about four hundred men went with Dawiḏ, and two hundred remained with the baggage. (1Sa 25:14) And one of the young men informed Aḇiḡayil, the wife of Naḇal, saying, “See, Dawiḏ have sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, but he scoffed at them. (1Sa 25:15) “But the men were very good to us, and did not put us to shame, nor did we miss any item all the days we accompanied them, when we were in the fields. (1Sa 25:16) “They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the days we were with them tending the sheep. (1Sa 25:17) “And now, know and see what you should do, for evil has been resolved against our master, and against all his household, and he is too much of a son of Beliyaʽal to speak to.” (1Sa 25:18) Then Aḇiḡayil made haste and took two hundred loaves, and two skins of wine, and five sheep made ready, five measures of roasted grain, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and loaded them on donkeys. (1Sa 25:19) And she said to her servants, “Pass over before me. See, I am coming after you.” But she did not inform her husband Naḇal. (1Sa 25:20) And it came to be, as she rode on the donkey, that she went down under cover of the hill, and there were Dawiḏ and his men, coming down toward her, and she met them. (1Sa 25:21) And Dawiḏ had said, “Only in vain have I protected all that this one has in the wilderness, so that not a speck was missing of all that belongs to him. And he has repaid me evil for good. (1Sa 25:22) “Let Elohim do so, and more also, to the enemies of Dawiḏ, if I leave one male of all who belong to him by morning light.” (1Sa 25:23) And Aḇiḡayil saw Dawiḏ, and she hastened to come down from the donkey, and fell on her face before Dawiḏ, and bowed down to the ground, (1Sa 25:24) and fell at his feet and said, “On me, my master, let this crookedness be on me! And please let your female servant speak in your ears, and hear the words of your female servant. (1Sa 25:25) “Please, let not my master regard this man of Beliyaʽal, Naḇal. For as his name is, so is he: Naḇal is his name, and folly is with him. But I, your female servant, did not see the young men of my master whom you sent. (1Sa 25:26) “And now my master, as יהוה lives and as your being lives, since יהוה has withheld you from coming to bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now then, let your enemies be as Naḇal, even those seeking evil against my master. (1Sa 25:27) “And now this present which your female servant has brought to my master, let it be given to the young men who follow my master. (1Sa 25:28) “Please forgive the transgression of your female servant. For יהוה is certainly making a steadfast house for my master, because my master fights the battles of יהוה, and evil is not found in you in all your days. (1Sa 25:29) “And if a man rises to pursue you and seek your life, and the life of my master has been bound in the bundle of the living with יהוה your Elohim, then the lives of your enemies He shall sling out, as from the pocket of a sling. (1Sa 25:30) “And it shall be, when יהוה has done for my master according to all the good that He has spoken concerning you, and has appointed you ruler over Yisra’ĕl, (1Sa 25:31) do not let this be a staggering and stumbling of heart to my master, that you have shed blood without cause, or that my master has saved himself. And when יהוה has done good to my master, then remember your female servant.” (1Sa 25:32) And Dawiḏ said to Aḇiḡayil, “Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, who sent you to meet me today! (1Sa 25:33) “And blessed is your good taste, and blessed are you, because you have kept me this day from coming to bloodshed and from avenging myself with my own hand. (1Sa 25:34) “Nevertheless, as יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl lives, who has kept me back from doing evil to you, if you had not hurried and come to meet me, not a male would have been left to Naḇal by break of day, for certain.” (1Sa 25:35) And Dawiḏ received from her hand what she had brought him, and said to her, “Go up in peace to your house. See, I have listened to your voice and have accepted your face.”
Note that Naḇal (apparently means folly) had plenty- just too stingy to share!
(1Sa 25:36) And Aḇiḡayil went to Naḇal, and see, he was at a feast in his house, like the feast of a sovereign. And Naḇal’s heart was glad within him, and he was exceedingly drunk. So she told him not a word, little or much, until morning light. (1Sa 25:37) And it came to be, in the morning, when the wine had gone from Naḇal, and his wife had told him these matters that his heart died within him and he became like a stone. (1Sa 25:38) And it came to be in about ten days, that יהוה smote Naḇal, and he died. (1Sa 25:39) And Dawiḏ heard that Naḇal was dead, and he said, “Blessed be יהוה, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Naḇal, and has kept His servant from evil! For יהוה has returned the evil of Naḇal on his own head.” And Dawiḏ sent and spoke to Aḇiḡayil, to take her as his wife. (1Sa 25:40) And when the servants of Dawiḏ had come to Aḇiḡayil at Karmel, they spoke to her saying, “Dawiḏ sent us to you, to ask you to become his wife.” (1Sa 25:41) And she arose, bowed her face to the earth, and said, “Here is your female servant, a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my master.” (1Sa 25:42) And Aḇiḡayil hurried and rose, and rode on a donkey, with five of her female attendants. And she followed the messengers of Dawiḏ, and became his wife. (1Sa 25:43) Dawiḏ had also taken Aḥinoʽam of Yizreʽĕl, and so both of them were his wives. (1Sa 25:44) But Sha’ul had given Miḵal his daughter, Dawiḏ’s wife, to Palti son of Layish, who was from Galliym. (1Sa 26:1) And the Ziphites came to Sha’ul at Giḇʽah, saying, “Is not Dawiḏ hiding himself in the hill of Ḥaḵilah, overlooking the wasteland?” (1Sa 26:2) And Sha’ul rose up and went down to the Wilderness of Ziph, and with him three thousand chosen men of Yisra’ĕl, to seek Dawiḏ in the Wilderness of Ziph. (1Sa 26:3) And Sha’ul encamped in the hill of Ḥaḵilah, overlooking the wasteland, by the way, while Dawiḏ was dwelling in the wilderness, and he saw that Sha’ul came after him into the wilderness. (1Sa 26:4) And Dawiḏ sent out spies, and learned that Sha’ul had indeed come. (1Sa 26:5) And Dawiḏ rose up and came to the place where Sha’ul had encamped. And Dawiḏ saw the place where Sha’ul lay, and Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr, the commander of his army. And Sha’ul was lying within the enclosure, with the people encamped all around him. (1Sa 26:6) And Dawiḏ spoke up and said to Aḥimeleḵ the Ḥittite and to Aḇishai son of Tseruyah, brother of Yo’aḇ, saying, “Who does go down with me to Sha’ul in the camp?” And Aḇishai said, “I, I go down with you.” (1Sa 26:7) And Dawiḏ and Aḇishai came to the people by night and saw Sha’ul lying asleep within the camp, with his spear stuck in the ground by his head, and Aḇnĕr and the people lay all around him. (1Sa 26:8) And Aḇishai said to Dawiḏ, “Elohim has surrendered your enemy into your hand this day. And now, please, let me smite him at once with the spear, right into the earth, and not a second time!” (1Sa 26:9) But Dawiḏ said to Aḇishai, “Do not destroy him, for who shall stretch out his hand against the anointed of יהוה, and be guiltless?” (1Sa 26:10) Dawiḏ also said, “As יהוה lives, except יהוה does smite him, or his day come that he shall die, or he shall go out to battle and perish, (1Sa 26:11) far be it from me, by יהוה, that I stretch out my hand against the anointed of יהוה. And now, please take the spear and the jug of water that are by his head, and let us go.” (1Sa 26:12) So Dawiḏ took the spear and the jug of water by Sha’ul’s head, and they went away. And no man saw it or knew it or awoke, for they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from יהוה had fallen on them. (1Sa 26:13) And Dawiḏ passed over to the other side, and stood on the top of a hill far away, a great distance being between them. (1Sa 26:14) And Dawiḏ called out to the people and to Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr, saying, “Do you not answer, Aḇnĕr?” And Aḇnĕr answered and said, “Who are you, calling out to the sovereign?” (1Sa 26:15) And Dawiḏ said to Aḇnĕr, “Are you not a man? And who is like you in Yisra’ĕl? Why then have you not guarded your master the sovereign? One of the people came in to destroy your master the sovereign. (1Sa 26:16) “What you have done is not good. As יהוה lives, you are worthy to die, because you have not guarded your master, the anointed of יהוה. And now see where the sovereign’s spear is, and the jug of water that was by his head.” (1Sa 26:17) And Sha’ul recognised Dawiḏ’s voice, and said, “Is that your voice, my son Dawiḏ?” And Dawiḏ said, “It is my voice, my master, O sovereign.” (1Sa 26:18) And he said, “Why is this that my master is pursuing his servant? For what have I done, or what evil is in my hand? (1Sa 26:19) “And now, please, let my master the sovereign hear the words of his servant: If יהוה has moved you against me, let Him accept an offering. But if it is the children of men, then they are cursed before יהוה, for they have driven me out today that I should not join myself to the inheritance of יהוה, saying, ‘Go, serve other mighty ones.’ (1Sa 26:20) “And now, do not let my blood fall to the earth before the face of יהוה. For the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl has come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains.” (1Sa 26:21) And Sha’ul said, “I have sinned. Come back, my son Dawiḏ. For no more am I going to do evil to you, because my life was precious in your eyes today. See, I have acted foolishly, and have greatly strayed.” (1Sa 26:22) And Dawiḏ answered and said, “See, the sovereign’s spear! And let one of the young men come over and get it. (1Sa 26:23) “And let יהוה reward every man for his righteousness and his trustworthiness, for this day יהוה gave you into my hand, but I would not stretch out my hand against the anointed of יהוה. (1Sa 26:24) “And see, as your life has been valued in my eyes today, so let my life be valued in the eyes of יהוה, and let Him deliver me out of all distress.” (1Sa 26:25) And Sha’ul said to Dawiḏ, “Blessed are you, my son Dawiḏ, achieving much, and indeed prevailing!” Then Dawiḏ went on his way, and Sha’ul returned to his place. (1Sa 27:1) And Dawiḏ said in his heart, “Now I shall perish by the hand of Sha’ul, some day. There is naught better for me than to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Sha’ul shall give up searching for me any longer in any part of Yisra’ĕl, and I shall escape out of his hand.” (1Sa 27:2) So Dawiḏ rose up and passed over with the six hundred men who were with him to Aḵish son of Maʽoḵ, sovereign of Gath. (1Sa 27:3) And Dawiḏ dwelt with Aḵish at Gath, he and his men, each man with his household – Dawiḏ with his two wives, Aḥinoʽam the Yizreʽĕlitess, and Aḇiḡayil the Karmelitess, Naḇal’s widow. (1Sa 27:4) And it was reported to Sha’ul that Dawiḏ had fled to Gath, so he sought him no more. (1Sa 27:5) And Dawiḏ said to Aḵish, “If I have now found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, to dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?” (1Sa 27:6) And Aḵish gave him Tsiqlaḡ that day. That is why Tsiqlaḡ has belonged to the sovereigns of Yehuḏah to this day. (1Sa 27:7) And the time that Dawiḏ dwelt in the country of the Philistines came to be a year and four months. (1Sa 27:8) And Dawiḏ and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, and the Girzites, and the Amalĕqites. For those nations were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as you go to Shur, even as far as the land of Mitsrayim. (1Sa 27:9) And when Dawiḏ had smitten the land, he left neither man nor woman alive, but took away sheep, and cattle, and donkeys, and camels, and garments, and returned and came to Aḵish. (1Sa 27:10) And Aḵish would say, “Where have you made a raid today?” And Dawiḏ would say, “Against the South of Yehuḏah, or against the South of the Yeraḥme’ĕlites, or against the South of the Qĕynites.” (1Sa 27:11) Dawiḏ did not keep alive man or woman, to bring news to Gath, saying, “Lest they inform against us, saying, ‘thus Dawiḏ did.’ ” And this was his practice all the days that he dwelt in the country of the Philistines. (1Sa 27:12) And Aḵish trusted Dawiḏ, saying to himself, “He has indeed made himself a stench to his people in Yisra’ĕl, and has become my servant forever.” (1Sa 28:1) And it came to be in those days that the Philistines gathered their armies for battle, to fight with Yisra’ĕl. And Aḵish said to Dawiḏ, “You know, of course, that you are to go out with me in the army, you and your men.” (1Sa 28:2) And Dawiḏ said to Aḵish, “Very well, you shall know what your servant should do.” And Aḵish said to Dawiḏ, “Very well, I make you one of my chief guardians forever.”
Rebellion, pride and self-exaltation of King Sha’ul has ushered in disobedience and has removed YHWH’s presence- next the spirit of fear suggests the need for magic? NO! NO! NO! Seems all will be tested for what we really believe.
(1Sa 28:3) And Shemu’ĕl had died, and all Yisra’ĕl had mourned for him and buried him in Ramah, in his own city. And Sha’ul had put away the mediums and the spiritists from the land. (1Sa 28:4) And the Philistines were gathered, and came and encamped at Shunĕm. And Sha’ul gathered all Yisra’ĕl, and they encamped at Gilboa. (1Sa 28:5) And when Sha’ul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly. (1Sa 28:6) And Sha’ul inquired of יהוה, but יהוה did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets. (1Sa 28:7) Sha’ul then said to his servants, “Find me a woman who is a medium, to go to her and inquire of her.” And his servants said to him, “Look, there is a woman who is a medium at Ěn Dor.” (1Sa 28:8) And Sha’ul disguised himself and put on other garments, and went, he and two men with him. And they came to the woman by night. And he said, “Please divine for me, and bring up for me the one I shall name.” (1Sa 28:9) But the woman said to him, “Look, you know what Sha’ul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and the spiritists from the land. Why then do you lay a snare for my life, to put me to death?” (1Sa 28:10) And Sha’ul swore to her by יהוה, saying, “As יהוה lives, no punishment comes upon you for this matter.” (1Sa 28:11) And the woman said, “Whom do I bring up for you?” So he said, “Bring up Shemu’ĕl for me.” (1Sa 28:12) And when the woman saw Shemu’ĕl, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Sha’ul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? You yourself are Sha’ul!” (1Sa 28:13) And the sovereign said to her, “Do not be afraid. What did you see?” And the woman said to Sha’ul, “I saw a spirit coming up out of the earth.” (1Sa 28:14) And he said to her, “What is his form?” And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is covered with a mantle.” And Sha’ul knew that it was Shemu’ĕl, and he bowed with his face to the ground and did obeisance. (1Sa 28:15) And Shemu’ĕl said to Sha’ul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” And Sha’ul answered, “I am deeply distressed, for the Philistines are fighting against me, and Elohim has turned aside from me and does not answer me any more, neither by prophets nor by dreams. So I have called you, to reveal to me what I should do.” (1Sa 28:16) Then Shemu’ĕl said, “And why do you ask me, seeing יהוה has turned aside from you and has become your enemy? (1Sa 28:17) “And יהוה has done for Himself as He spoke by me. For יהוה has torn the reign out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to Dawiḏ. (1Sa 28:18) “Because you did not obey the voice of יהוה nor execute His burning wrath upon Amalĕq, therefore יהוה has done this matter to you today. (1Sa 28:19) “Further, יהוה also gives Yisra’ĕl with you into the hand of the Philistines. And tomorrow you and your sons are with me. יהוה also gives the army of Yisra’ĕl into the hand of the Philistines.” (1Sa 28:20) And immediately Sha’ul fell on the ground, his complete length, and greatly feared because of the words of Shemu’ĕl. And there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no food all day or all night. (1Sa 28:21) And the woman came to Sha’ul and saw that he had been greatly disturbed, and said to him, “See, your female servant has obeyed your voice, and I have put my life in my hands and has listened to the words which you spoke to me. (1Sa 28:22) “And now, please listen to the voice of your female servant too, and let me set a piece of bread before you. And eat, so that you have strength when you go on your way.” (1Sa 28:23) But he refused and said, “I am not going to eat.” But his servants, together with the woman, urged him. And he listened to their voice. So he rose from the ground and sat on the bed. (1Sa 28:24) And the woman had a fatted calf in the house, and she quickly slaughtered it. And she took flour and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread from it. (1Sa 28:25) And she brought it before Sha’ul and his servants. And they ate, and rose up and went away that night.

Civil? Unrest brewing for King David and us?
Leviticus 6:1-8:36; Jeremiah 7:21- 8:3 and 9:22-23; Hebrews 8:1-6;
