The new calendar year starts today! Not the commanded Biblical New Year, as that starts at Aviv when the barley ripens and it is nearing usability for Passover and First Fruits offering. Practically speaking the New Year revolves around pagan gods and festivals, but it is still a milestone and we all live here on Planet Earth, so enjoy and take stock of yourself and your relationship with others and more especially your Elohim, YHWH and our Messiah and King- YAHSHUA! New beginnings seem to fit appropriately, since it is usually through great hardship and struggle we arrive at fresh starts and renewal. With that quick summary of “and he settled” portion let’s review last week’s portion about wrestling. Of course you and I do the same thing; we wrestle with YHWH daily about our choices and directions, the point is loved one, if we don’t spend time with Him just now before His return; will we likely be “shocked and awed” by the same forces that others faced with Mystery Babylon, the great whore, who rules the nations of earth in the last days before Messiah’s return. Our ONLY SURE HOPE is His deliverance and you will not receive that by being lukewarm. The last day’s assembly of believers looks something like what is called Laodicea; their concern is for pleasure more than a love for YHWH- let’s you and I not be counted among them. (Rev 3:13) “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.” ’ (Rev 3:14) “And to the messenger of the assembly in Laodicea write, ‘The Amen, the Trustworthy and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of Elohim,1 says this: Footnote: 1Col. 1:15, Heb. 1:6. (Rev 3:15) “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I would that you were cold or hot. (Rev 3:16) “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth. (Rev 3:17) “Because you say, ‘Rich I am, and I am made rich, and need none at all,’ and do not know that you are wretched, and pitiable, and poor, and blind, and naked. (Rev 3:18) “I advise you to buy from me gold refined in the fire,1 so that you become rich; and white garments, so that you become dressed, so that the shame of your nakedness might not be shown; and anoint your eyes with ointment, so that you see. Footnote: 1Ps. 19:10, Ps. 119:72 & 127, Prov. 30:5. (Rev 3:19) “As many as I love, I reprove and discipline. So be ardent and repent. (Rev 3:20) “See, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I shall come in to him and dine with him, and he with me. (Rev 3:21) “To him who overcomes I shall give to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne. (Rev 3:22) “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.” ’ ” Okay, I promised a quick review about wrestling with our Elohim: Wrestling with YHWH! Names Mean things- check yours- walk in your destiny!
(Gen 32:24) And Yaʽaqoḇ was left alone. And a man (Angel or Yahshua?) wrestled with him until the breaking of day. (Gen 32:25) And when He saw that He did not overcome him, He touched the socket of his hip. And the socket of Yaʽaqoḇ’s hip was dislocated as He wrestled with him. (Gen 32:26) And He said, “Let me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I am not letting you go until you have blessed me!” (Gen 32:27) So He asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Yaʽaqoḇ.” (Gen 32:28) And He said, “Your name is no longer called Yaʽaqoḇ, but Yisra’ĕl1, because you have striven with Elohim and with men, and have overcome.” Footnote: 1Yisra’ĕl means “to strive with Ěl, to overcome with Ěl, (then) to rule with Ěl” (Gen 32:29) And Yaʽaqoḇ asked Him, saying, “Please let me know Your Name.” And He said, “Why do you ask about my name?” And He blessed him there. (Gen 32:30) And Yaʽaqoḇ called the name of the place Peni’ĕl, “For I have seen Elohim face to face, and my life is preserved.” (Gen 32:31) And the sun rose on him as he passed over Penu’ĕl, and he limped on his hip. (Gen 32:32) That is why the children of Yisra’ĕl to this day do not eat the sinew of the hip, which is on the socket of the thigh, because He touched the socket of the thigh of Yaʽaqoḇ, in the sinew of the hip.
Wrestling with YHWH brings forth strategies and deliverance! Something I did not address last week is that the strategy was to hide his beloved behind Leah. That is exactly what YHWH has done for Ephraim, the sons of Joseph who represent the 10 scattered tribes of Israel- scattered for their rebellion and whoredoms of assigning pagan feasts and rituals in celebrating the true Creator and Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Judah has taken the burden of the punishment/attack from hasatan and now we will come forth; as we lay claim to our promises of being grafted in to Israel- not a pagan church assembly who personifies Yahshua as “lawless”. Notice, you don’t need four hundred men for a welcome party.
(Gen 33:1) And Yaʽaqoḇ lifted his eyes and looked and saw Ěsaw coming, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children among Lĕ’ah, and Raḥĕl, and the two female servants. (Gen 33:2) And he put the female servants and their children in front, and Lĕ’ah and her children behind, and Raḥĕl and Yosĕph last. (Gen 33:3) And he himself passed over before them and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. (Gen 33:4) And Ěsaw ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept. (Gen 33:5) And he lifted his eyes and saw the women and children, and said, “Who are these with you?” And he said, “The children with whom Elohim has favored your servant.” (Gen 33:6) Then the female servants came near, they and their children, and bowed themselves. (Gen 33:7) And Lĕ’ah also came near with her children, and they bowed themselves. And Yosĕph and Raḥĕl came near, and they bowed themselves. (Gen 33:8) Then Ěsaw said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” And he said, “To find favor in the eyes of my master.” (Gen 33:9) But Ěsaw said, “I have enough, my brother, let what you have remain yours.” (Gen 33:10) And Yaʽaqoḇ said, “No, please, if I have now found favor in your eyes, then receive my present from my hand, because I have seen your face like seeing the face of Elohim, and you were pleased with me. (Gen 33:11) “Please, take my blessing that is brought to you, because Elohim has favored me, and because I have all I need.” And he urged him, and he took it. (Gen 33:12) And he said, “Let us depart and go, and let me go before you.” (Gen 33:13) But he said to him, “My master knows that the children are weak, and the flocks and herds which are nursing are with me. And if the men should drive them hard one day, all the flocks shall die. (Gen 33:14) “Please let my master go before his servant and let me lead on slowly according to the pace of the livestock that go before me, and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my master in Sĕʽir.” (Gen 33:15) And Ěsaw said, “Please let me leave with you some of the people who are with me.” But he said, “Why this? Let me find favor in the eyes of my master.” (Gen 33:16) And Ěsaw returned that day on his way to Sĕʽir. (Gen 33:17) And Yaʽaqoḇ set out to Sukkoth, and built himself a house, and made booths for his livestock. That is why the name of the place is called Sukkoth. (Gen 33:18) And Yaʽaqoḇ came safely to the city of Sheḵem, which is in the land of Kenaʽan, when he came from Paddan Aram. And he pitched his tent before the city. (Gen 33:19) And he bought the portion of the field where he had pitched his tent, from the children of Ḥamor, Sheḵem’s father, for one hundred qesitah. (Gen 33:20) And he set up an altar there and called it Ěl Elohĕ Yisra’ĕl.
Here are the Torah Scriptures for this Week: Vayeshev “And He Settled”
Genesis 37:1-40:23; Amos 2:6- 3:8; Zechariah 2:10 (14) - 4:17; Acts 7:9-16; and Mark Chapters 1 and 2
Dreams and Visions will also bring revelation to us; but like Joseph will likely be accompanied by fiery trials and testing’s as we must change as YHWH remains the same- yesterday today and forever! Note the stripping of his self-exaltation.
(Gen 37:1) And Yaʽaqoḇ dwelt in the land of his father’s sojournings, in the land of Kenaʽan. Gen 37:2) this is the genealogy of Yaʽaqoḇ. Yosĕph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. And the young man was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives. And Yosĕph brought an evil report of them to his father. (Gen 37:3) And Yisra’ĕl loved Yosĕph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a long robe. (Gen 37:4) But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and were not able to speak peaceably to him. (Gen 37:5) And Yosĕph dreamed a dream, and told it to his brothers. So they hated him even more. (Gen 37:6) And he said to them, “Please listen to this dream which I have dreamed: (Gen 37:7) “See, we were binding sheaves in the midst of the field, and see, my sheaf rose up and also stood up. And see, your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” (Gen 37:8) And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Shall you indeed rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. (Gen 37:9) And he dreamed still another dream and related it to his brothers, and said, “See, I have dreamed another dream, and see, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” (Gen 37:10) And he related it to his father and his brothers. And his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall we, your mother and I and your brothers, indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?” (Gen 37:11) And his brothers envied him, but his father guarded the word. (Gen 37:12) And his brothers went to feed their father’s flock in Sheḵem. (Gen 37:13) And Yisra’ĕl said to Yosĕph, “Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Sheḵem? Come, I send you to them.” So he said to him, “Here I am.” (Gen 37:14) And he said to him, “Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the sheep, and bring back word to me.” So he sent him out of the Valley of Ḥeḇron, and he went to Sheḵem. (Gen 37:15) A certain man found him; and see he was wandering in the field. And the man asked him, saying, “What do you seek?” (Gen 37:16) And he said, “I am seeking my brothers. Please inform me where they are feeding their sheep.”(Gen 37:17) And the man said, “They have left here, for I heard them say, ‘Let us go towards Dothan.’ ” So Yosĕph went after his brothers and found them in Dothan. (Gen 37:18) And they saw him from a distance, and before he came near them, they plotted against him, to kill him. (Gen 37:19) And they said to each other, “See, this master of dreams is coming! (Gen 37:20) “Now, then, come and let us now kill him and throw him into some pit, and shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ Let us then see what comes of his dreams!” (Gen 37:21) But Re’uḇĕn heard and rescued him from their hands, and said, “Let us not take his life.” (Gen 37:22) And Re’uḇĕn said to them, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit which is in the wilderness, and do not lay a hand on him” – in order to rescue him out of their hands, and bring him back to his father. (Gen 37:23) So it came to be, when Yosĕph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Yosĕph of his robe, the long robe which was on him. (Gen 37:24) And they took him and threw him into a pit. And the pit was empty there was no water in it.
Scheming and Cover-up- mankind; we still don’t want all our deeds in the light-
(John 3:19) “And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked.
(Gen 37:25) And they sat down to eat a meal. And they lifted their eyes and looked and saw a company of Yishmaʽĕlites, coming from Gilʽaḏ with their camels, bearing spices, and balm, and myrrh, and going to take them down to Mitsrayim. (Gen 37:26) And Yehuḏah said to his brothers, “What would we gain if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? (Gen 37:27) “Come and let us sell him to the Yishmaʽĕlites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother, our flesh.” And his brothers listened. (Gen 37:28) And men, Miḏyanite traders passed by, so they pulled Yosĕph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Yishmaʽĕlites for twenty pieces of silver. And they took Yosĕph to Mitsrayim. (Gen 37:29) And Re’uḇĕn returned to the pit, and see, Yosĕph was not in the pit. And he tore his garments. (Gen 37:30) And he returned to his brothers and said, “The boy is gone! And I, where am I to go?” (Gen 37:31) So they took Yosĕph’s robe, killed a male goat, and dipped the robe in the blood, (Gen 37:32) and sent the long robe and brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Please look, is it the robe of your son or not?” (Gen 37:33) And he recognized it and said, “It is my son’s robe. An evil beast has devoured him. Yosĕph is torn, torn to pieces.” (Gen 37:34) And Yaʽaqoḇ tore his garments, and put sackcloth on his waist, and mourned for his son many days. (Gen 37:35) And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted, and he said, “Now let me go down into the grave to my son in mourning.” So his father wept for him. (Gen 37:36) And the Miḏanites had sold him in Mitsrayim to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard.
I had always thought Judah was in adultery here- not so as his wife had died.(Gen 38:1) And at that time it came to be that Yehuḏah left his brothers, and turned aside to a man an Aḏullamite whose name was Ḥirah. (Gen 38:2) And Yehuḏah saw there a daughter of a certain Kenaʽanite whose name was Shuwa. And he took her and went in to her. (Gen 38:3) So she conceived and bore a son, and he called his name Ěr. (Gen 38:4) and she conceived again and bore a son, and she called his name Onan. (A great model of generator today- which you may soon need—ha ha- just checking to see if you were alert) (Gen 38:5) And she conceived yet again and bore a son, and called his name Shĕlah. And he was at Keziḇ when she bore him. (Gen 38:6) And Yehuḏah took a wife for Ěr his first-born, and her name was Tamar. (Gen 38:7) But Ěr, Yehuḏah’s first-born, was evil in the eyes of יהוה, and יהוה took his life. (Gen 38:8) And Yehuḏah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife and marry her, and rise up an heir to your brother.” (Gen 38:9) And Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. And it came to be, when he went in to his brother’s wife that he spilled on the ground, lest he should give an offspring to his brother. (Gen 38:10) But what he did displeased יהוה, so He took his life too. (Gen 38:11) Then Yehuḏah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law, “Remain a widow in your father’s house until my son Shĕlah is grown.” He said, “Lest he also die as his brothers did.” And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house. (Gen 38:12) And after a long time the daughter of Shuwa, Yehuḏah’s wife, died. And Yehuḏah was comforted, and went up to his sheep-shearers at Timnah, he and his friend Ḥirah the Aḏullamite. (Gen 38:13) And it was reported to Tamar, saying, “See, your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep.” (Gen 38:14) And she took off her widow’s garments, and covered herself with a veil and wrapped herself, and sat at the entrance to Ěnayim which was on the way to Timnah. For she saw that Shĕlah was grown, and she was not given to him as a wife. (Gen 38:15) And Yehuḏah saw her, and reckoned her for a whore, for she had covered her face. (Gen 38:16) And he turned aside to her by the way, and said, “Please let me come in to you,” for he did not know that she was his daughter-in-law. And she said, “What do you give me to come in to me?” (Gen 38:17) And he said, “Let me send you a young goat from the flock.” And she said, “Do you give me a pledge until you send it?” (Gen 38:18) So he said, “What pledge should I give you?” And she said, “Your seal and your cord and your staff that is in your hand.” And he gave them to her, and went in to her, and she conceived by him. (Gen 38:19) And she arose and went away, and removed her veil and put on the garments of her widowhood. (Gen 38:20) And Yehuḏah sent the young goat by the hand of his friend the Aḏullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand, but he did not find her. (Gen 38:21) And he asked the men of that place, saying, “Where is the cult prostitute who was beside the way to Ěnayim?” And they said, “There was no cult prostitute in this place.” (Gen 38:22) And he returned to Yehuḏah and said, “I have not found her. And the men of the place also said there was no cult prostitute in this place.” (Gen 38:23) And Yehuḏah said, “Let her take them for herself, lest we become despised, for I sent this young goat and you have not found her.” (Gen 38:24) And it came to be, about three months after that Yehuḏah was informed, saying, “Tamar your daughter-in-law has whored, and see, she has conceived by whoring.” And Yehuḏah said, “Bring her out and let her be burned!” (Gen 38:25) When she was brought out, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, “By the man to whom these belong, I am pregnant.” And she said, “Please examine whose these are: the seal and the cord and the staff.” (Gen 38:26) And Yehuḏah examined and said, “She has been more righteous than I, because I did not give her to Shĕlah my son.” And he never knew her again. (Gen 38:27) And it came to be, at the time for giving birth; that see twins were in her womb. (Gen 38:28) And it came to be, when she was giving birth, that the one put out his hand. And the midwife took a scarlet thread and bound it on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.” (Gen 38:29) And it came to be, as he drew back his hand that see, his brother came out! And she said, “How did you break through? This breach be upon you!” So his name was called Perets. (Gen 38:30) And afterward his brother came out who had the scarlet thread on his hand. So his name was called Zeraḥ.
Righteous repenting from self-exaltation always brings honor with persecution!
(Gen 39:1) And Yosĕph had been taken down to Mitsrayim. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, a Mitsrite, bought him from the Yishmaʽĕlites who had taken him down there. (Gen 39:2) And it came to be that יהוה was with Yosĕph, and he became a prosperous man, and was in the house of his master the Mitsrite. (Gen 39:3) And his master saw that יהוה was with him and that יהוה made all he did to prosper in his hand. (Gen 39:4) So Yosĕph found favor in his eyes, and served him, and he appointed him over his house, and gave into his hand all that he had. (Gen 39:5) And it came to be, from the time that he appointed him over his house and all that he had, that יהוה blessed the Mitsrite’s house for Yosĕph’s sake. And the blessing of יהוה was on all that he had in the house and in the field. (Gen 39:6) And he left in Yosĕph’s hand all that he had, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. And Yosĕph was handsome in form and appearance. (Gen 39:7) And after these events it came to be that his master’s wife lifted up her eyes to Yosĕph and said, “Lie with me.” (Gen 39:8) But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has given into my hand all that he has. (Gen 39:9) “No one is greater in this house than I, and he has not withheld whatever from me but you, because you are his wife. And how shall I do this great evil and sin against Elohim?” (Gen 39:10) And it came to be, as she spoke to Yosĕph day by day, that he did not listen to her, to lie with her, to be with her. (Gen 39:11) And it came to be on a certain day, when Yosĕph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, (Gen 39:12) that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. (Gen 39:13) And it came to be, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, (Gen 39:14) that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in to us a Heḇrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice. (Gen 39:15) “And it came to be, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.” (Gen 39:16) And she kept his garment with her until his master came home. (Gen 39:17) And she spoke to him these same words, saying, “The Heḇrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me, to mock me, (Gen 39:18) so it came to be, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.” (Gen 39:19) And it came to be, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did to me according to these words,” that his displeasure burned. (Gen 39:20) Then Yosĕph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the sovereign’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison. (Gen 39:21) But יהוה was with Yosĕph and extended kindness to him, and He gave him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. (Gen 39:22) And the prison warden gave into the hand of Yosĕph all the prisoners who were in the prison, and whatever was done there was his doing. (Gen 39:23) The prison warden did not look into any point that was under Yosĕph’s hand, because יהוה was with him. And whatever he did, יהוה made it prosper.
I suspect Joseph had lots of time to think about dreams and interpretation might be better left to YHWH- maybe we can learn from this!
(Gen 40:1) And after these events it came to be that the cupbearer and the baker of the sovereign of Mitsrayim sinned against their master, the sovereign of Mitsrayim. (Gen 40:2) And Pharaoh was wroth with his two officers, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker. (Gen 40:3) So he put them in confinement in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison, the place where Yosĕph was a prisoner. (Gen 40:4) And the captain of the guard put Yosĕph in charge of them, and he served them. So they were in confinement for some time. (Gen 40:5) Then the cupbearer and the baker of the sovereign of Mitsrayim, who were confined in the prison, dreamed a dream, both of them, each man’s dream in one night and each man’s dream with its own interpretation. (Gen 40:6) And Yosĕph came in to them in the morning and looked at them and saw that they were sad. (Gen 40:7) And he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in confinement of his master’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?” (Gen 40:8) And they said to him, “We each have dreamed a dream, and there is no one to interpret it.” And Yosĕph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to Elohim? Relate them to me, please.” (Gen 40:9) So the chief cupbearer related his dream to Yosĕph, and said to him, “See, in my dream a vine was before me, (Gen 40:10) and in the vine were three branches, and it was as though it budded – its blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes. (Gen 40:11) “And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand. So I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.” (Gen 40:12) And Yosĕph said to him, “This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days. (Gen 40:13) “Yet, within three days Pharaoh is going to lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you shall put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand according to the former ruling, when you were his cupbearer. (Gen 40:14) “But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me. And mention me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house. (Gen 40:15) “Truly I was stolen away from the land of the Heḇrews. And also I have done naught that they should put me into the dungeon.” (Gen 40:16) And the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, and he said to Yosĕph, “I also was in my dream and saw three white baskets were on my head, (Gen 40:17) and in the uppermost basket all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, and the birds ate them out of the basket on my head.” (Gen 40:18) And Yosĕph answered and said, “This is the interpretation of it: The three baskets are three days. (Gen 40:19) “Yet, within three days Pharaoh is going to lift off your head from you and hang you on a tree. And the birds shall eat your flesh from you.” (Gen 40:20) And on the third day, Pharaoh’s birthday, it came to be that he made a feast for all his servants. And he lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and of the chief baker among his servants, (Gen 40:21) and he restored the chief cupbearer to his post of cupbearer again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand, (Gen 40:22) but he hanged the chief baker, as Yosĕph had interpreted to them. (Gen 40:23) And the chief cupbearer did not remember Yosĕph, but forgot him.
Will giants and alien beings/demons be problems? No Problem for YHWH!
(Amos 2:6) Thus said יהוה, “For three transgressions of Yisra’ĕl, and for four, I do not turn it back, because they sell the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals, (Amos 2:7) who crush the head of the poor ones in the dust of the earth, and turn aside the way of the meek. And a man and his father go in to the same girl, to defile my set-apart Name. (Amos 2:8) “And they lie down by every altar on garments taken in pledge, and in the house of their mighty one they drink the wine of those who have been fined. (Amos 2:9) “Yet I destroyed the Amosrite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars. And he was as strong as the oaks, yet I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath. (Amos 2:10) “And I brought you up from the land of Mitsrayim, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amosrite. (Amos 2:11) “And I rose up some of your sons as prophets, and some of your young men as Nazirites. Not so? O you children of Yisra’ĕl?” declares יהוה. (Amos 2:12) “But you made the Nazirites drink wine, and commanded the prophets saying, ‘Do not prophesy!’ (Amos 2:13) “See, I am weighed down by you, as a wagon is weighed down when filled with sheaves. (Amos 2:14) “And a place to flee shall perish from the swift, and the strong not strengthen his power, and the mighty not save his life, (Amos 2:15) and he who handles the bow not stand, and the swift of foot not save, nor he who rides a horse save his life, (Amos 2:16) and the bravest among the mighty flee naked, in that day,” declares יהוה.
Clean up our lives loved ones or face punishment-warnings have come forth!
(Amos 3:1) Hear this word that יהוה has spoken against you, O children of Yisra’ĕl, against the entire clan which I brought up from the land of Mitsrayim, saying, (Amos 3:2) “You alone have I known of all the clans of the earth, therefore I punish you for all your crookedness’s.” (Amos 3:3) Would two walk together, without having met (some render agreed here)? (Amos 3:4) Does a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Does a young lion give forth his voice out of his den unless he has caught? (Amos 3:5) Does a bird fall into a snare on the earth, where there is no trap for it? Does a snare spring up from the earth, if it has not captured prey? (Amos 3:6) If a ram’s horn is blown in a city, do the people not tremble? If there is calamity in a city, shall not יהוה have done it? (Amos 3:7) For the Master יהוה does no matter unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:8) A lion has roared! Who is not afraid? The Master יהוה has spoken! Who would not prophesy? (Zechariah 2:10) “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Tsiyon! For look, I am coming, and shall dwell in your midst1,” declares יהוה. Footnote: 1Isa. 12:6.
YAY! Gentiles/Goyim-lost tribes- Ephraim of messiah- Christians repentant!
(Zechariah 2:11) “And many gentiles shall be joined to יהוה in that day1, and they shall become my people. And I shall dwell in your midst. And you shall know that יהוה of hosts has sent me to you. Footnote: 1Isa. 14:1, Isa. 56:6-8, Isa. 60:3, Ezek. 47:22-23, John 10:16, Acts 15:14-17. (Zechariah 2:12) “And יהוה shall inherit Yehuḏah, His portion in the Set-apart Land. And He shall again choose Yerushalayim1. Footnote: 1See 1:17. (Zechariah 2:13) “Hush, all flesh, before יהוה, for He has roused Himself out of His set-apart dwelling!” (Zechariah 3:1) And he showed me Yehoshua the high priest standing before the messenger of יהוה, and Satan standing at his right hand to be an adversary to him. (Zechariah 3:2) And יהוה said to Satan, “יהוה rebuke you, Satan! יהוה who has chosen Yerushalayim rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” (Zechariah 3:3) And Yehoshua was dressed in filthy garments, and was standing before the messenger. (Zechariah 3:4) And He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your guilt from you, and shall put costly robes on you.” (Zechariah 3:5) And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” Then they put a clean turban on his head, and they put garments on him. And the messenger of יהוה stood by. (Zechariah 3:6) And the messenger of יהוה witnessed to Yehoshua, saying, (Zechariah 3:7) “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘If you walk in my ways, and if you guard my duty, then you shall also rule my house, and also guard my courts. And I shall give you access among these standing here. (Zechariah 3:8) ‘Now listen, Yehoshua the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth my Servant – the Branch1. Footnote: 1Or Sprout. See Isa. 4:2, Isa. 11:1, Jer. 23:5, Jer. 33:15, Zechariah. 6:12. (Zechariah 3:9) ‘See the stone which I have put before Yehoshua: on one stone are seven eyes. See, I am engraving its inscription,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘and I shall remove the guilt of that land in one day. (Zechariah 3:10) ‘In that day,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘you shall invite one another, under the vine and under the fig tree.’ ” (Zechariah 4:1) and the messenger who was speaking to me came back and woke me up as a man is awakened from sleep. (Zechariah 4:2) And he said to me, “What do you see?” So I said, “I have looked, and see: a lamp stand all of gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven spouts to the seven lamps. (Zechariah 4:3) “And two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.” (Zechariah 4:4) Then I responded and spoke to the messenger who was speaking to me, saying, “What are these, my master?” (Zechariah 4:5) And the messenger who was speaking to me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my master.” (Zechariah 4:6) And he answered and said to me, “This is the word of יהוה to Zerubbaḇel, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ said יהוה of hosts. (Zechariah 4:7) ‘Who are you, Great Mountain, before Zerubbaḇel? A plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Favor, favor to it!” ’ ” (Grace-grace in many Bibles)
The fiery trials produce relationship and set-apartness before YHWH!
(Act 7:9) “And the ancestors, becoming jealous, sold Yosĕph into Mitsrayim. But Elohim was with him, (Act 7:10) and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, sovereign of Mitsrayim. And he appointed him governor over Mitsrayim and his entire house. (Act 7:11) “Then a scarcity of food and great distress came over all the land of Mitsrayim and Kena‘an, and our fathers found no food. (Act 7:12) “But Yaʽaqoḇ heard that there was grain in Mitsrayim, and he sent out our fathers the first time, (Act 7:13) and at the second time Yosĕph was made known to his brothers, and Yosĕph’s race became known to the Pharaoh. (Act 7:14) “And Yosĕph sent and called his father Yaʽaqoḇ and all his relatives to him, seventy-five people. (Act 7:15) “And Yaʽaqoḇ went down to Mitsrayim, and died, he and our fathers, (Act 7:16) and they were brought over to Sheḵem and laid in the tomb that Aḇraham bought for a price of silver from the sons of Ḥamor, the father of Sheḵem.
Note: Yah-Chanan (John- means Yah’s mercy) comes one way- REPENT- receive forgiveness! Once that has occurred THEN- Yahshua will baptize in the spirit and we will have power to be His witnesses- like 5 wise virgins w/oil for their lamps!
(Mar 1:1) The beginning of the Good News of יהושע Messiah, the Son of Elohim. (Mar 1:2) As it has been written in the Prophets, “See, I send my messenger before your face, who shall prepare your way before you,1 Footnote: 1Mal. 3:1. (Mar 1:3) a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of יהוה, make His paths straight.’ ”1 Footnote: 1Isa. 40:3. (Mar 1:4) Yoḥanan came immersing in the wilderness and proclaiming an immersion of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. (Mar 1:5) And all the country of Yehuḏah, and those of Yerushalayim, went out to him and were all immersed by him in the Yardĕn River, confessing their sins. (Mar 1:6) And Yoḥanan was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather girdle around his waist, and eating locusts and wild honey. (Mar 1:7) And he proclaimed, saying, “After me comes One who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen. (Mar 1:8) “I indeed did immerse you in water, but He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit.” (Mar 1:9) And it came to be in those days that יהושע came from Natsareth of Galil, and was immersed by Yoḥanan in the Yardĕn. (Mar 1:10) And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit coming down on Him like a dove. (Mar 1:11) And a voice came out of the heavens, “You are My Son, the Beloved, in whom I did delight.” (Mar 1:12) And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
Trials come to test steal the promised anointing and it is allowed to prove us!
(Mar 1:13) And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tried by Satan, and was with the wild beasts. And the messengers attended Him. (Mar 1:14) And after Yoḥanan was delivered up, יהושע came to Galil, proclaiming the Good News of the reign of Elohim, (Mar 1:15) and saying, “The time has been filled, and the reign of Elohim has come near. Repent, and believe in the Good News.” (Mar 1:16) And walking by the Sea of Galil, He saw Shimʽon, and Andri his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers. (Mar 1:17) And יהושע said to them, “Come, follow me, and I shall make you become fishers of men.” (Mar 1:18) And immediately they left their nets and followed Him. (Mar 1:19) And having gone on a little from there, He saw Yaʽaqoḇ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yoḥanan his brother, and they were in the boat mending their nets. (Mar 1:20) And immediately He called them, and leaving their father Zaḇdai in the boat with the hired servants, they went after Him. (Mar 1:21) And they went into Kephar Naḥum, and immediately on the Sabbath He went into the congregation and taught. (Mar 1:22) And they were astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching them as possessing authority, and not as the scribes. (Mar 1:23) And there was a man in their congregation with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, (Mar 1:24) saying, “Ha! What have we to do with you, יהושע of Natsareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Set-apart One of Elohim!” (Mar 1:25) And יהושע rebuked him, saying, “Be silenced, and come out of him!” (Mar 1:26) And throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit called out with a loud voice, and came out of him. (Mar 1:27) And they were all so amazed, as to reason among themselves, saying, “What is this, a fresh teaching? With authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!” (Mar 1:28) And news about Him immediately spread into all the country around Galil. (Mar 1:29) And coming out of the congregation, they went straight to the house of Shimʽon and Andri, with Yaʽaqoḇ and Yoḥanan. (Mar 1:30) And the mother-in-law of Shimʽon lay sick with inflammation, and immediately they spoke to Him about her. (Mar 1:31) And having come, He took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the inflammation left her, and she served them. (Mar 1:32) And when evening came, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. (Mar 1:33) And the entire city had gathered at the door. (Mar 1:34) And He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons, and was not allowing the demons to speak, because they knew Him. (Mar 1:35) And having risen very early in the morning, while still dark, He went out, and went away to a lonely place, and there He prayed. (Mar 1:36) And Shimʽon and those who were with Him searched for Him, (Mar 1:37) and when they found Him, they said to Him, “All are seeking You.” (Mar 1:38) And He said to them, “Let us go into the neighboring towns, so that I proclaim there also, because for this I have come forth.” (Mar 1:39) And He was proclaiming in their congregations, in all Galil, and casting out demons. (Mar 1:40) And a leper came to Him, calling upon Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If you desire, you are able to make me clean.” (Mar 1:41) And יהושע, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I desire it. Be cleansed.” (Mar 1:42) And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. (Mar 1:43) And having strictly warned him, He immediately sent him away, (Mar 1:44) and said to him, “See, say none at all to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Mosheh ordered, as a witness to them.” (Mar 1:45) But he went out and began to publish it so much, and to spread the word, that יהושע was no longer able to openly enter the city, but was outside in lonely places. Yet they came to Him from all directions. (Mar 2:1) And some days later He again entered into Kephar Naḥum, and it was heard that He was in the house. (Mar 2:2) And so many gathered together, that there was no more room, not even at the door. And He spoke the Word to them. (Mar 2:3) And they came to Him, bringing a paralytic, carried by four. (Mar 2:4) And not being able to come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. And when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. (Mar 2:5) And when יהושע saw their belief, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” (Mar 2:6) Now some of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, (Mar 2:7)“Why does this One talk like this? He is blaspheming! Who is able to forgive sins but Elohim alone?” (Mar 2:8) And immediately יהושע, knowing in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason about all this in your hearts? (Mar 2:9) “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? (Mar 2:10) “But in order for you to know that the Son of Aḏam possesses authority on earth to forgive sins...” He said to the paralytic, (Mar 2:11) “I say to you, rise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” (Mar 2:12) And he rose straightaway, and took up the bed, and went out before all, so that all were amazed and praised Elohim, saying, “We have never seen the like of it!” (Mar 2:13) And He went out again by the sea, and the entire crowd was coming to Him, and He taught them. (Mar 2:14) And passing by, He saw Lĕwi the son of Alphai sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow Me.” And having risen he followed Him. (Mar 2:15) And it came to be, as He sat at the table at his house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat with יהושע and His taught ones, for there were many, and they followed Him. (Mar 2:16) And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His taught ones, “Why does He eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” (Mar 2:17) And hearing this, יהושע said to them, “Those who are strong have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.” (Mar 2:18) And the taught ones of Yoḥanan and of the Pharisees were fasting. And they came and said to Him, “Why do the taught ones of Yoḥanan and of the Pharisees fast, but Your taught ones do not fast?” (Mar 2:19) And יהושע said to them, “Are the friends of the bridegroom able to fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they are not able to fast. (Mar 2:20) “But the days shall come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast in those days. (Mar 2:21) “And no one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, otherwise the renewed piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. (Mar 2:22) “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the new wine bursts the wineskins, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine is to be put into fresh wineskins.”
Note: The Torah does not prescribe you cannot eat grain in fields on the Sabbath!
(Mar 2:23) And it came to be that He went through the grain fields on the Sabbath. And as they went His taught ones began to pluck heads of grain, (Mar 2:24) and the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is not right on the Sabbath?” (Mar 2:25) And He said to them, “Have you never read what Dawiḏ did when he had need and was hungry, he and those with him? (Mar 2:26) “How he went into the House of Elohim, while Eḇyathar was high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not right to eat, except for the priests, and he gave it also to those who were with him?” (Mar 2:27) And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. (Mar 2:28) “So the Son of Aḏam is also Master of the Sabbath.”1 Footnote: 1Mt. 12:8.
Loved One, I recently received an email asking “WHAT IS GOD SAYING FOR 2011?” I thought briefly if you will spend time with HIM you will be guided into all truth. My funny yet serious thought was- well- we get to choose what this year brings us personally by our decisions. You and I can choose to ignore all the warnings of a collapsing dollar, lost jobs in our economy, a Marxist government that rules the world with death and destruction, coming earth changes due a flyby of the “Destroyer” dwarf star approaching Planet Earth at the winter solstice –December 21st 2012, the death of the Gulf Stream which will freeze Europe over the next few years, total infiltration and control by evil demon infested elites, a spineless and fearful Congress that follows the orders of the elite, concentration camps, civil unrest and on and on the list goes. We can hide our heads close to our rears and not look- and wait for the inevitable destruction or we can WAKE UP- draw EVER CLOSE to YHWH and SHEMAH (Hear and obey Him) as He is our ultimate provision and protection OR we can go ahead and kiss our rears good bye since our heads are down there anyway. No need to wait for 2013 and beyond. We MUST walk in His power/ love for fruit that will remain.
Shalom to your home,
Thurston
